    2011 305 express

congratulations on your purchase. the wait is now the hardest part. can't provide any insight on the 305, but in reality, distance is more a function of intestinal fortitude than boat (given adequate fuel). me, i'm a 0-25 guy. but i'm sure some guys will chime in on the 305 in detail...

    265 express radar

since no one with a 265 has chimed in yet. i don't think you "need" any shims as the general radar beam angle is about 12.5 degrees up and down of horizontal plane. however, i like them and put a 4 degree wedge on my 232 and now my 330. i used seaview mounts with the wedge between the mount...

    Draining the Drive bracket

glad to help. keep up the annual maintenance and you should be good. you might want to dig up a spare since sooner or later it will deteriorate from being in the water. ron

GW Express 360 vs. Pursuit OS 375

not trying to sell anyone on anything, but don't dismiss the center helms. the newer 330's do have a better layout, but it is still tighter than if the chair were not there. also, they now offer the new flip-up bolster helm chair which makes a difference. i was lifelong starboard helm...

    Draining the Drive bracket

actually, you now have enough information to know NOT to break it  . carefully unscrew it with an adjustable wrench (not a channel loc) with minimal effort - and remember that you are working upside down, don't turn the wrong way. clean it and reseat it like i said above - the grease...

GW Express 360 vs. Pursuit OS 375

one other thing. before we committed to the 330, we took the factory tour. i would recommend you do the same. ron

    Draining the Drive bracket

if i remember correctly, they were $15 a pop from Gil.

GW Express 360 vs. Pursuit OS 375

can't help with those models, but i went thru GW v pursuit twice. both times went GW (a 232 and now a 330). ultimately it was the GW reputation for standing behind the product (versus the product itself - although obviously important) which was really critical to me (and not to say pursuit...

    Panda Generator Maintenance

george, there is an internal oil filter. i only have a few hours on mine, but steve (gulfcart) has probably cleaned his by now. ron

    Draining the Drive bracket

no vacuum. it's just air that expands with the temp. or it could be air compressed because water is in the bracket. you should remove the drain plug and drain anything in there. i actually sealed up my access plate with silicone to make sure water doesn't leak down into the bracket. ron

    Grady-White Parts?

like i said, if it's Gil, give them a call. they have a parts dept. ron

    2 engines vs 1

possibly. check the performance numbers on the GW site for the boat you are looking at. they are pretty close to real world. in addition, twins give added close quarter maneuvering capability and some redundancy, but maybe twice the maintenance. always a trade-off. ron

    Draining the Drive bracket

i always reused my plug on the 232. like grady678, i bought a few as spares. actually only broke one the first time it did it - fool me once ??? :D i filled the "hole" in the nut with 5200 for strength. remove it, clean it up and grease it well with marine grease. i also popped the...

    Grady-White Parts?

if it's a gil bracket you can go right to them. that's what i did. bought a couple for spares. i filled the hole in the "nut' with 5200 for extra strength. at the end of every season i would open it, and re-grease it. don't over-tighten; finger tight only. i'm not sure you want to use a...

    Grady 33 Express Questions

we haven't done much overnighting, but we found the V to be comfortable. the tv is flat screen on an articulating mount, so viewing from just about anywhere is good. the table also drops down and makes a pretty nice berth area (might be great for your wife depending on how tall she is). i...
