during winterization, one of the little directional "eyeballs" in the washer nozzle blew out. has anyone had to replace the washer nozzle that is attached to the wiper arm? it's a 330. can you get an insert, or is it the whole arm. thx, ron
if you are new to boating it's probably a good idea (or at least have an old salt with you when you take delivery). the important thing is to get any of the items that really should be taken care of before delivery out of the way. i had a couple things on both mine that had to be fixed before...
you request them to put it on "hold". (at least for xm; i'd be surprised if sirius is not the same). you can do it for a max of 5 months. when it comes back on, there is no activation fee. i just did mine on the 4th, comes back on april 4th. ron
it depends. i put xm weather in this season because last year i bagged a lot of days because of "thunderstorm" predictions that turned out to be nothing. this year, i didn't miss any days because of a forecast. i was always able to keep an eye on any storm that actually occurred and determine...
that's why i'm on number 2!
you can always have a discussion about which brand is the "best", but gw customer service always comes through and it goes beyond just answering questions. i see so many threads on tht about having trouble with brand name boats and the mfg is not helping, but i have...
might be an "input" for a carry-on genset. trace it to see where it goes. at a minimum, get rid of it and put in a real marine connection. if it is for a genset, put in a real marine connection (and it should be male connectors). good luck, ron.
congrats.
i have a garmin setup and am very happy with it. the best thing to do is get out and play around with equipment at boat shows and dealers. i know the west marine superstore in brick, nj has a great display section. good luck with everything. ron
update.
winterized yesterday. i paid close attention to the water heater and noted two things. first, the drain is not flush with the bottom of the heater. i don't know if the internal tank is flush with the drain (accounting for insulation?). second, i have an aft tilt so not all water is...
no, but i would venture a guess that they have experienced a good number of owners forgetting that they bypassed and frying their heaters in the spring or bad results from the bypass itself. it's good enough for me when an mfg recommends against something.
i did just have a :doh moment this...
stainless will "rust". i get the same thing and just clean it off. everything looks ok. i think it comes from water laying in the thruhull and then dripping out as the boat rocks. ron
fwiw, when i did my water heater last year (first year with one) i asked GW about bypassing. they were very specific in recommending AGAINST bypassing the heater. so, i don't bypass. ron
the time for good negotiation on that stuff is during the initial purchase. it would be interesting to see if you can come up with a discount though.
as far as cost, i can't say authoritatively, but there is a lot of engineering, labor and material in those tops. if you were going to go to...
looks like they just modified their website. if you remember, the perf data came up in a popup window, now it's on the model page. guess they have a few bugs. ron
what year? on my '02, you could clearly see and feel the excess line by looking under the gunwale where the fills were. the dealer said they had to do another one before mine. also, i just saw i put the wrong notation in my previous post. it was a foot and a half of excess line. ron
