That bushing may belong in there. When you say it’s loose what do you mean? If it wobbles all over the place ( bad bushing) or just side-to-side (bad universal).

How deep is deep water? What don't you like about the Striker 7? What transducers do you have?

I can measure my 1997 268 Islander later today. Exactly which hatches do you need measured? And the transom door. Where is this 268 Islander located? I busted up my anchor locker hatch and would be interested in that part.

Replacement cost took a big jump last two years. Stock market crushed. I doubt you will see as much new boat buying and therefore less used boat supply. On the other hand you should see some of the "new" boat owner bail out with higher fuel, dockage and maintenance costs.

All the hatches and doors fail the same way. It's unlikely his are in better shape than yours. Mine are all crapped up. Same with hardtop. I just refinished mine this year. It's expensive to send them out and not easy to find anyone who wants the work. I did the hardtop myself and...

How do you know this?

Check everything with a meter or bring a marine electrician in. It may be as the guys are saying that someone screwed something up. It could be the polarity check device in the panel but I'm not convinced yet.

I went to 4-blade props with F150's and it was a game changer. Quite happy with mid-range performance improvement. A little more HP without the weight would be perfect.
