Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

just cut one apart. Not magnetic. Looks like some kind of tin alloy or maybe aluminum. Not tinned copper.

    Prop selection

Your old prop specs are probably meaningless. Probably not a lot of new Mercs on this forum. I know there are a couple recently. But your Merc dealer probably get you started in the right direction. Or google PropGods/Powertech and talk to them

    No power to onboard charger

First, check Breaker near the isolator. You have shore power but no AC panel and no outlets? I was going to say...Check Charger breaker on AC panel. Other thing to do would be test another outlet to see if you have any power to the panel.

    ac/dc mini freezer

Just be safe. Dry ice is CO2 and in a closed space it will kill you.

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

That might be for solid wire in houses. I know there are new push connectors to replace wire nuts. These work well in tight spaces when you need to crimp. Like a crimped wire nut. Crimp much easier than a butt connector and wires are also twisted together for really good connection.

    Reminder to turn off batteries

just thought! Get a MOB alarm from Fell or ACR. Wear the fob. It will alarm if you get too far away from boat. That will remind you to turn of boat. Then yuo need a reminder to turn off fob.

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

If I wasn't able to easily remove it and work on the kitchen table, I would have used those.

    Sea-Tow membership

I have BoatUS and West Marine Gold rewards also. I started buying annual UNLIMITED tow in 1999 on my old Wellcraft. Been buying it ever since. On new boat it is currently included the Geico coverage. So lets say $100/yr for 25 years. $2500. never been towed. Never called them. Never was a...

    Reminder to turn off batteries

I dock and it stays in water. When I walk the dock to the car I always look back to stare at my baby and then...mental checklist... motors up, curtains down, dock lines not pulled tight to dock, shit! turn off batteries!....and I have to get back on the boat and turn them off. Its somewhere...

Fell MOB+ vs ACR OLAS Guardian

You mean like trailer T splices? HEHEHE ...I have some but didn't have the balls to do it. I twisted and crimped and heatshrunk. (so when mine don't work I have to cut them all apart and start over with shorter wires.....) They make nicer ones now. At least give the appearance of...

Is it time for a Grady transom "sticky"?

If we had a sticky page we wouldn't have to repeat our displeasure every week.... maybe we could get past the rant and have a single good source to point to for what to look for and what to do to fix things(with pictures) Grady sells NEW boats not 20yo used boats. All transom problems come...

Replacing batteries on a Marlin 300

I split my batteries out so that I have one starting battery for each motor and a House pair of DC that is separate from the starting batteries. The house charges separately using the Aux charging cables(yamaha has these available). Both motors charge the House. The House does not drain either...

    Adding a Third Battery

idk your model setup. Usually, the starboard bank is the House and starting battery On the larger boats, grady often used two parallel batteries(same type) on the starboard side. Assuming you have space... In the simplest configuration you would just add a battery in parallel next to your stbd...

    Intro and help!?!?

Look at the 4 motor mounting bolts. If they weren't removed then they pulled that rod and hung the motor. if the parts are missing, they had to do it. They can't fall out... If they disintegrated the pieces would still be in there.

    Intro and help!?!?

Funny though... you would not normally ever take that apart to remove a motor. That part holds the motor to the bracket. The steering would come off the ends..although that could be disconnected in otherways that doesn't even touch that part. Maybe they di you a favor and pulled the clamp...

    ac/dc mini freezer

I hear you and feel your pain with the ballyhoo. I try to repackage the still frozen dozen into 4s and vacuum seal. That way I thaw one and keep the others frozen in cooler. Of course it doesn't always happen that I buy it ahead of time. Then the open dozen becomes a soggy bloody mess in the...
