    Bang Plate

Yes it will help and not hurt. The biggest worry is that they jam and you can't get them all the way off. Ask me how I know...That happened on my old boat. Then you have to try to cut them. Hopefully they come loose enough to get a saw blade on it. Don't reuse them Just got some replacements...

    228 Seastar bulkhead replacement lines

Once again, the confusion with the term "bulkhead hose" on Seastar hoses. Usually, "bulkhead hoses" means that there is a plate with strain relief bushings put on the hoses before they put all on all of the fittings. The idea being that you have a hole in your motorwell for the hoses to go thru...

2004 Grady White 33 Express Cruiser Garmin Transducer

Get the GT56 (high wide- better definition side scan not as deep) or GT51M(Mid -very good sidescan Deeper) thru hull from Garmin. Mount on centerline in the bilge. Both are just under $1000 (not including installation). On the centerline, you don't need to use the fairing and you don't need...

    Transom Transducer Mounting Location

There is a brand called SternPAD. Uses 3M VHB tape. No epoxy. Goes on easy. Stays on for years. Mine has been there since 2018 https://www.amazon.com/Stern-Pad-Jumbo

    1999 Grady 272 Transom

" the majority of this is likely to be generalizing as well as speculation" Exactly!;) Yes I make an assumption that the 2018 motors were new when installed and assume that the owner and the motor installer aren't out n out douches. not nearly as broad an assumption as "The core is likely...

    AutoPilot upgrade from manual hydraulic

I run the Garmin power cable (with fuse holder) to my battery switch that is under the stbd gunnel. Your battery switch is father back, on the transom. It might reach. Definitely get + on the switch not direct to battery. Negative goes to the battery terminal. The SmartPump draws ALOT of power...

    1999 Grady 272 Transom

the 2018 motors were installed 5 or 6 years ago. i don't think anyone tried to hide anything. The sealant is just what squished out when they installed it. Then they turned a wrench and some got messed up... Could they have done a better job sealing the lower bolts?...yes. Could Grady have done...

    1999 Grady 272 Transom

isn't "UNcommon"... What you are looking at is not uncommon for a 20+ yo boat that stays in the water. The washers on the inside bolts often crack the gelcoat and glass of the inner transom. The glass is not flat even when brand new. The washer comes tight on a high spot and then crushes as its...

Remove F225 Outboards with Cherry Picker

The dealer installed the upper and lower bolts from the inside. Threads outside on all. This is common but not ideal. The uppers have to go that way so there are no threads inside the motorwell to rub on things. The lowers should go from outside-in with threads inside. (many service manuals...

Remove F225 Outboards with Cherry Picker

I've done that before. How else would you do that really? Thats what its for. it was $99 at HF! Think of using it to set my current motors off to the side without disconnecting. I THINK it can be done. I need to do a little work on the lower bolt holes. FYI. I repowered my 265 a few years ago...

Replacement cockpit bolsters on 33 Express

yep. There is no special source for Grady bolsters. Sounds like you want top quality and some custom embroidery. Find a well reviewed shop in MA and pay them as much as it takes to get what YOU want.

Gas fill vented and grounded plastic fill

The fuel hose has a steel wire in it. The clamps are SS. The cap is chrome. The attaching screws are SS. I would keeep the ground wire attached.

    welding hardtop support

Haven't seen pix so dunno the extent and location of the cracking. Sometimes just welding over the crack is just going to make it crack somewhere else. Just consider replacing some pipe and/or adding plates, if necessary.

Extra rod holders on a Grady White 307 Freedom

Agree, the rack on the hardtop is a must no matter what... If you want fishable rodholders on the bow, then flush in the gunnel is the way to go. You can daisy chain the drains into just one outlet per side.

Extra rod holders on a Grady White 307 Freedom

Get rodholders with drains. You can plumb the drains out to the deck or plumb them to the bilge(centerline) using 3/8" tubing Don't let them drain straight down outside of the stringers. There is foam there and water will not drain to the bilge.

    265 Express with Bracket

There is absolutely no good reason to put 300s on a 265. The tailgate and the close motors are the 265s reason for being.

    welding hardtop support

If you don't fix it you will get cracks everywhere. You absolutely cant have wires in your frame. Years ago on my 20 footer I had it fixed on the boat. I pulled the cables and left a single wire for pulling them back later. That wire got welded to the frame.... On my 265 I removed the hardtop...
