    Antenna Questions

The GPS "antenna" is actually the GPS electronics also. Your old 17x may have been a NMEA 0183 connection.(they came in both NMEA0183 and NMEA2000) If so, you'll need to add a NMEA2000 connection if you want to use a newer N2k model. There is no point in buying an older model. The 24 has...

    Electrical issue

Horn sounds like a bad connection but.. first things first.... remove the 12/24v LED. put an old school bulb in there. Does it work? take the horn back to the battery and test it directly. Does it work? Those two things will tell you something.

    Question about manual flush toilet

So do you have a manual Jabsco pump flush that draws from a thru hull? It has twp positions Fill bowl and Flush. It has a rubber valve inside. To Flush it pulls from the open seacock and pushes the waste to the holding tank. If the seacock is closed, I don't think you can push the waste to...

    Backing into slip + fenders

I got lucky. Originally I was in a tight one. You can see it in my avatar below my signature here. They were kind of empty my second season with the Grady and they said pick one. I took a big one with the pole between the two slips. Been there since. Its a good thing because docking in a full...

those are not the flapper type. Generally they only put thru hulls with flappers on the stern deck drains (scuppers)

    Backing into slip + fenders

The drawing doesn't show the correct angle of the bow lines and doesn't show the sag in any of the lines. yep the port bow line is the only one not floating. Everything else goes up and down with the tide. You are correct there has to be enough slack in the lines for outgoing and low tide (bow...

    Backing into slip + fenders

Its not a great drawing. The bow lines prevent rear movement because there are two of them

    Backing into slip + fenders

My floating dock has a free standing pole on the outside. I ran a line to the floating dock with a sliding ring and a "spring" line. In combination with the port bow line, which is not "floating", it holds the boat off the dock so it doesn't rub on the fenders. After a storm it also prevents the...
