Reference Pacific Marine Repair in Oxnard, California on the above opinion (Tech's name is Alan).

    Leaky Lower Unit

I had the same problem. Changed my lower unit oil and it came out milky. I checked with my Yamaha Service guy and he told me Yamaha changed their supplier of gaskets in the last year or so. The gaskets from this new supplier are very, very, hard. So hard that the gasket does not crush and...

    Advice Needed: 330 Battery Set-Up

Thank-you. I'll do some more research on this. If I didn't have the genset, I'd be more worried.

    Advice Needed: 330 Battery Set-Up

Has anyone re-configured their batteries on a 330? I do not like the current set-up where a house battery is connected to an engine. Anyone else have this concern? And do anything about it?

    Side Power Thruster Problems

I just went through all of this. Had a similar symptom where the thruster just quite working. The Thruster dealer in New Bedford can e-mail you a 8 page PDF with pictures and instructions which help you diagnose exactly what the problem is (joystick, solenoid, etc.). The good news is you can...

    Advice Needed: 330 Battery Set-Up

Greetings, I have a 2006 330 Express. Love the boat however I'm concerned about how the batteries were set-up at the factory by Grady. There are 4 G27 batteries. Two banks of two with each pair paralleled. Problem is, from what I can tell from the wiring drawing (page 8-24 of my owner's...

33 express with custom helm seating

I have a 2006 330 with the top of the line seat. It is very well made, sturdy, highly ajustable and heavy. A fiend of mine has a 2002 (or 3?) 330 with the base helm chair. The seat post on the base helm is less in diameter than the higher end helm so a new pedestal may be in order for you if...

    Cabin bolster removal

At the bottom edge of the bolster (where the venting screen material is) look for a brass grommit. That is where the set screw was on mine. Simply remove the all of the set screws at the center of each grommit and lift the whole bolster up. Good luck!

    Panda Generator Maintenance

Greetings, For those who own the diesel Panda Genset, what is your maintenance routine? The Panda Manual is kind of hard to interpret as it seems to be translated from something to English. Last week, I changed the oil but wish to know what else I should do (i.e. filters, fuel addiitve...

Why doesn't GW use "tinned" wire?

This is my only disappointment with these boats. Anyone know why? Seems like a no brainer. Discovered this recently on my 2003 265's fuel sender wiring (had "black wire" from water intrusion).

    Spreader lights quit...

Yes - getting that Dome Light out is a bear! Problem is reaching the nut up in the overhead cabinet. I was able to get to one somewhat easily but the other was superhard. Think vice grips and allow for extra time...

    Spreader lights quit...

I had the same thing happen to me. It was the switch on the dome light. West Marine didn't stock it so I picked one up at my GW Dealer. Definitely the switch since BOTH lights went out. On my 265, it was truly a pain in the neck to remove the dome light to replace that little switch. Good luck.

    265 Propellers

Hmmm - that's a tough one Tom. I fear you are fighting the laws of physics and gravity! Have you considered adding a Permatrim to each motor? That could lower your planing speed (and RPM's). On my Seafarer (one F225), I added this device (basically a fixed trim tab) and I was surprised in...

    Group 27 Batteries in a 265 ?

Yes, the 27's will fit. I purchased 3 batteries of the type recommended in the GW Owner's Manual - Deka wet cells. Two starting batteries and one deep cycle (house). One start battery + a 3 stage, 3 battery (10 amps each), battery Charger (Guest) is also mounted on the port side near the...

    226 vs 228

Both are great choices. If buying used, buy the one in better condition with more options. Example: if you fish in the ocean, having the auxilary fuel tank is a huge plus as well as the hard top. However, if it's dead even, I'd lean towards the 228 - seems to be more sought after and the...

    Gulfstream 232 or Journey 258 ??

Congratulations. The 232 is a very excellent choice. The 258 is good too - but if it were me, I'd do wide body baby! Good luck with her!

    Need Info on 265 Express

That 2000 265 with new F225's (45 hours) seemed to be priced right. Was available for a couple months as I recall. But I see it has a sale pending on it now. These boats, due to their following, tend to draw a price in that $60's range depending on options, condition, engine type & hours...
