    Bow Thruster Question

Thinking about this some more - I realized the crab puller has nothing to do with my Sirius radio blanking out while using the bow thruster. That's because my Crab pot puller is feed by an independent G27 AGM and not connected to the boat's house (or any) circuit in any way. So my problem...

New encloser 33 grady SALLY ANN

Tony, Darn! I looked and looked and do not have one photo. Need to take one someday. It has open sides and simply goes into a track on the trailing edge of the upper hard top frame. Then, in the back, it goes into 9 or so of those twist toggle things across the top of the transom very close...

    Bow Thruster Question

Possibly - and only because this was after we pulled 11 crab pots in 200 feet of water with my Electradyne Pot Puller. Now, the batteries are new (earlier this year - wet cell deep cycle 27's) but perhaps the load required to pull 11 pots took them down a bit. As an experiment, next time...

    Bow Thruster Question

Greetings, With my Sirius Radio playing, if I operate the bow thruster, the radio blanks out. Then, when the thruster is finished operating, the radio turns back on. So there is an obvious interuption of voltage starving the Sirius radio when the thruster (high amps) is operating. Has...

New encloser 33 grady SALLY ANN

Looks terrific. I own a 2006 330 Express which came with the white curtains - which I love. Like you, I have the blue colored under gunnel lights, which I also love. Lastly, I have an aft fly curtain which I use all the time and it really saves my bolsters. Highly recommend it. Thanks for...

Which is better- discharge overboard OR periodic pump out?

Re: Which is better- discharge overboard OR periodic pump ou Always best to use the pump out service if convenient. Better for our oceans and waterways...

    Thinking about a 2011 GW 300 Marlin

Re: Just purchased a 2011 GW 300 Marlin Congratulations Kevin. I however feel a little sorry for you as this will surely be the looongest Winter of your life! Good luck with her...

    Main 30 amp fuse blowing

Not sure but I think your house bank runs off, and is wired to, the starboard engine. I had this happen to me and found my AC shore power plug and socket on the cord was burnt. Not sure why but it caused resistance. Once I replaced it, all was well again. Also - are running some high amp...

Best Anchor for a 330 Express

Larry and Bill (above) - Thanks and yes I concur. I am not a junior newbie to all of this and understand completely how important ground tackle is. My most common anchorage is in mud. I like the combination of heavy 5/16th chain, 2X the length of my boat, coupled with healthy three strand...

Best Anchor for a 330 Express

To clarify - I had 60 feet of chain + another 60 feet (approx.) of rode in the water. That makes for 120 feet in 20-30 feet of water. Thinking about this some more - perhaps I didn't have enough rode out (maybe 50-60 feet more rode would have made the difference). Thanks,

Best Anchor for a 330 Express

Greetings, I believe my 2006 330 Express has a 22 lb. Lewmar Delta anchor. Looks great under the bow pulpit but I noticed it slipping alot over the weekend in 20-40' water (muddy bottom) with my 60' of 5/16th chain. I was not happy with it's lack of "grab". The Lewmar seems a bit under sized...

330 express with twin 225hp mpg

Not all boaters go by the same yardstick - that is - statute or nautical miles. I go by Nautical miles and get 1.0 nmpg and am exclusively in the ocean and usually pretty heavy with fuel. I have a 2006 330 with F250's. Top end at WOT is 35 knots (40 mph statute). A friend of mine has a 2002...

    265 Gas Hog???

Both engines should consume the same amount of fuel (more or less). So I think you're on the right path examining the LP fuel pump. I kept very good records when I owned my 265 with F225's. I averaged a solid 1.5 statute MPG. Sometimes when I was light on fuel and crew weight, I'd reach 1.8...

    Vacu-Flush Head

The above Poster (GMan) is correct. Your circuit breaker tripping has nothing to do with the Duck Bill valves. Assuming you have a clear path in your plumbing, I'd focus on the motor - it might need to be replaced or at least checked by someone to determine it's condition. As to the duck...

    Panda Fischer Generator Impeller Service

Thanks for that. I'll try that next time I do an impellor change. I especially like the idea of using braided line. I picked up a handfull of right sized threaded nuts (non wing nuts). I find the non-wingnuts easier to handle in that very small place...

    Panda Fischer Generator Impeller Service

Thanks but what keeps the slip knot from slipping off the wing on the wing nut? Great idea - just curious how you did this. Thanks,

Honda 2000 Sailfish transom platform mount

Here's what I did when I owned my 265 Express. Worked really good: 1. On your swim step, remove two existing SS bolts holding the swim platform to the SS tube bracing under the swim platform - ie. two that are 18" or 24" apart and in the center of the swim platform if possible. 2. In their...

I need all 330 Express experts please!

I just purchased a 2006 330 with F250's, diesel genset and bow thruster last November. Love the boat. My quick inputs which you may find useful: 1. Given a choice, get one with a diesel genset. There's a reason why Grady did this. 2. Though not necessary, try to get the bow thruster...

    22-8 Installing yamaha T8 Kicker

When I had my 228, I put my T8 on the Starboard side as it countered the right hand turn of the main engine's prop which lowers your transom to port (prop turns clockwise). If you put the T8 to Port, you add to the right hand trim problem. Plus, you battery weight is to port as well. The T8...

    V-Berth Question for 330 Owners

Unless you're quite short, I do not think you can sit straight up and down in the vee berth. It's more of a lay back 130 degree scenario for most adults. You can of course do this in the dinnete then hit the rack when you're tired.
