Before you try to make a portable gas genny permanently installed, look into LIPO batteries and inverter. If you don’t have a gen or need to replace the one you so have- it’s going to be 15-20k if you are writing checks. Those diesel Fischers are at least in the 10k neighborhood just to buy.
i got a price for a Nexgen which uses generic parts and is Marinized. Still 7-8k and that’s diy.
4-5 grand of LIPO batts with inverter should be able run AC overnight. Sub in a DC powered AC unit and you will use less. Recharge will suck but if you’re one night at a time on the hook with no power, let it slowly charge back up at the dock for a couple of days. Prob not a great option if you have a proper working gen but if yours took a dump or your boat never had one, LIPO may be worth a look. Some of the OE’s are doing this on 30’ ish boats already
