    Drift socks

I decided to go with a 54" drift control ($31 bucks on amazon seemed like a good deal, smaller and bigger sizes were more expensive), it is rubberized and seams well made - hope conditions dont require it, but heading out Friday and will prob see what it does. Many thanks.

    Drift socks

Thanks for the info, I will take a look and see what I can find (I am usually looking for about 1 knot) but had been looking at smaller and cheaper socks. Will update once I buy one and try it out.

    Drift socks

Those are some serious drift socks! I have a 208, I fish for striped bass and fluke mostly, hoping to use the drift sock for fluke fishing in the long island sound, the wind sometime makes it hard to get a decent drift speed (wind v. Tide).

    Drift socks

Anyone use a drift sock? If so what size sock for what size boat are you using? Any recommendation on brands or types (I dont know much but think there are ones that make it easier to retrieve by collapsing the sock. Any tips for use? Many thanks.

Yamaha Square Speed/Fuel Gauge - LCD display data hard to read

I've done the polarized repair (worked great) but agree with other poster likely not the issue since half gauge is fine. I should reach out to the sites provided, they should be able to give you an answer/quote.

    Help - white smoke

Still smokes like crazy on start up, after that it seems to be fine. I just put some fresh gas in last trip, and swapped out with new plugs - yet to start but will take out this week. I used the gap I found on the inside of the cowling instead of the gap in my Clymer repair manual (1.0mm which...

    Rub Rail end caps

It is dated, but let's bring it back. I was just caulking the end of my rub rails (will post picture) and was less then happy with the outcome. Appears a ton of options on Ebay (jist search for rub rail end) just not sure what is the right size for my 208. I am going to try to measure the rub...

Yellow water line stain - finally gone.

Starbright dodnt seems to have an odor, and while ir may work, I prefer to stick to products designed for boats, not toilets (if price was expensive then maybe I should reconsider but looking at a few bucks here)

    Help - white smoke

I inspected and all looks good, it is a little wobbly but otherwise looks good. Read online to check the plastic sleeves to make sure no cracks, will do so tomorrow.

    Help - white smoke

Quick update - realized that I am launching from a new place, which requires a 15 minute no wake zone back to the dock. Hit me that maybe low idle for too long was leaving extra fuel or oil in the cylinders, causing smoke on the next startup. Last time out, I idled at tied at the dock at around...

What size brass drain tube for Grady Adventure

A few other pointers that helped me: I heated the entire tube and quenched in water -first attempt, the pre flared end split, this was also using a 1/4" so had to take that one out and redo. At your own risk, but 1/8" extra pipe was perfect for the flare (two much extra material to flare and...

How easy to get to the speakers and stereo?

Got it, not sure how much help I can be, but I. the 208, I had no existing radio, and had to utilize the access panel/deck plate in the cabin to run wire down from the dash *used a fishing sinker and string to drop a line down to snake it) and the one near the drivers feet, was able to use the...
