Adventure/overnight anchor light doesnt stay tight

It was open where the pole goes into the socket (cant see that in the pics though). I think it was from an old light (the part that screws down onto the base) because it had threads on it. I am thinking of drilling a small pinhole through the base to put a pin/finishing nail to lock in (even...

Contraption to keep feet dry when launching, easy winch hook remover.

How about pulling the boat out - how do you get hook back on to winch up? Assuming you need to get on front of trailer at some point to attach to the cleat - the magnet helps me from having to do that, once I back boat into water, I just walk onto dock and do everything from there, never need to...

Contraption to keep feet dry when launching, easy winch hook remover.

Should point out the pictures above are in the driveway, usually boat is off the tongue about a foot off the tongue when launching.

Contraption to keep feet dry when launching, easy winch hook remover.

I keep both hooked up, and have a power winch with remote control. Once the boat is partially floating I let the winch out and boat sits still until I give it a push then it starts rolling (stiff rollers), while it is sitting I pull both chains off with the magnet. Then just give boat small push...

Contraption to keep feet dry when launching, easy winch hook remover.

Thanks, Dennis. Between the winch hook under tension, and the safety chain I feel confident she is not going anywhere (oddly enough the safety chain on every boat I have owned doesnt have the clip, just a hook. The winch is the only one with a safety clip).

Contraption to keep feet dry when launching, easy winch hook remover.

I have one, but used two zip ties to hold the clip open, since there is always tension on the hook the safety clip is not really necessary.

Contraption to keep feet dry when launching, easy winch hook remover.

I trailer my boat and use a trailer with rollers - which means when I launch my boat I cant unclip the winch strap/safe chain until my boat hits the water (otherwise the boat could roll down off the trailer while launching). I have always had to climb in the water, balance on the trailer beam...

Adventure/overnight anchor light doesnt stay tight

The connector on the boat had a plastic cap covering the threads, once I removed i can now screw light on - many thanks. Cant believe I have been dealing with that light for a year and such a simple fix. Thank once again greatgrady.

Adventure/overnight anchor light doesnt stay tight

My anchor light (a replacement I luckily bought from someone on this site last year) tend to wiggle loose and lose it connection with any major movement of the boat. Is there supposed to be something on the light that screws into the base to hold it in? Afraid I will eventually break the pins...

What seat did you end up ordering? Looks nice- do you still have the same clearance inbetween the seats?

    Opinion on Power Winches

I use a fulton over a year now with I would say over 50 uses with no issues. I have a 208 and use the 7000, for anything bigger I think they have a bigger model. I have to haul my boat at dead low tide sometimes and this winch pulls the boat up onto the trailer (pretty much the maximum test I...

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

Yes tank goes behind tank. I was in there when i installed and tank seemed pretty solid. I had a hard time finding the part for the gunwale faucet and also was concered about cutting such a big piece of my boat out. I decided to mount s faucet underthe gunwale in the port rear (also close to the...

Replacing fuel tank on 1993 208 Adventurer

Livewell install on 1996 grady adventure.

Many thanks, mike. I am actually all done at this point but appreciate the offer. I didn't go as elaborate as you but good to know this info in case I want to expand. I used the port side to better distribute weight (I fish solo a lot), also was the best shape of the two on the adventure (port...

It worked great, some restriction with check valve but otherwise works great! Just in time for striped bass run.

Best way to keep spark plug boots on a 1986 yamaha 150 outboard?

If I was going through rollers I wouldn't rely on some adhesive, i would buy new wires/coil if money permits (plus if your misfiring because of bad spark that can stress your engine).

Livewell install on 1996 grady adventure.

Just for anyone looking to do do similar project, this is the plumbing setup I am going to try (be nice please lol). One side goe to the seacock/livewell pump and the other to the livewell fill. Needed a check valve because my tank fills from the bottom (probably should have just had fill from...

    Running at night

Good advice. With the cell phone, I also have the closest coast guard station as a quick dial (I imagine a delay in response time by calling 911) but would go for the VHF (especially if don't have local number) get the coast guard, local police, fire) at one shot.

    Boat Cover Recommendations?

This is cover on my adventure 208. I also use a Pvc frame (looks like a house that supports the back portion).
