Dogdoc, I had the Simrad kit, same thing, a bunch of parts. I did a lot of research on the Seastar Steering box in my case. They will tell you if the Year was NPT or BSP. I ended up getting some new NPT Compression Fittings from a local hydraulic shop, but they are probably at Home Depot...

Help Identifying Proper Grady White Blue Color

You might check with Grady, they are pretty good about getting back quickly on things like this.

New (to me) Grady - 2004 Marlin

All the Best! Enjoy my 300 2005, also shipped to TX from Chesapeake Bay, MD. side. Ton of info on this site has helped me tremendously.

One of the best things added for same reasons you did. What a pleasure to have a 3rd hand taking the wheel whether in harbor, trolling, or cruising. Used a Simrad since have Navico Electronics and mounted Pump under the Helm. Yes, lines are near wheel, and power is right close too. Had an...

New Owner of 2004 330 Express

Congrats on the purchase, not sure I understand the question. If you are talking about the Switch Panel, it is just the screws around the backplate. Looks like you need some new Rocker Switch Covers. That was one of the first things I did on my Marlin.

    Arm rests removal

Those look to be the same as what I have, only 1-pin to punch out. Make sure it did not break off. I actually broke punch is the process, but was able to get them done. Just get some small SS bolts to replace. They should just lift out, maybe a little help from hammer.

    272 1996 sailfish Transducer mounting

I believe you mean Thru Hull. There are some threads on here, that helped me. I have Thru Hulls, but also have a Transom Mount. One recommendation on here was SternMate. I used that mount process on the base and it is solid. After 2 years in the water, I found the only issue is the outer...

    EPIRB's

Yes, EPIRB and inReach both. Text Service is only $16 month or so, less than most spend for other junk. You hope you never need any life saving tool, although I find texting useful on the way in sometimes for eta. Want a Life Raft too.

    repower 2007 30 Marlin

Are you having trouble with your Yamahas or just want to spend $40-50K. I have 1100 hours on my 2005 Marlin Yamahas, just had their 2 year full maintenance, no major issues, should be good for many more years. Maybe I am trying to get too much life out mine?

    Gulf Maps

It is not cheap, $100, Captain Marvin Horner's "Little Hang Book". It does not give great detail like Rik's, but no doubt great numbers from years of running head boat in Port A and other places. Mostly past 9NM.

    Gulf Maps

Good to hear from you, I was actually reading this for the first time when taking the ferry over to Port A from Rockport. My Grady is over there on blocks getting new bottom paint. I actually keep her in water on Padre Island, just go thru Packary to GoM. My boat is "Grady Bunch", and would...

    Radar mounting on hardtop pics

RobertH, no issues upside down on the Spotlight, but had to do it to mount Radar. I did use 4000 on the seam since it was not meant to be upside down. I literally used the same holes, never really use it anyway, but tested it the other day, after 2 years still moves, pans, and works good.

    Radar mounting on hardtop pics

Have the Halo 24 mounted directly on mine, mostly for bridge clearance on our canals. Have a small Wedge under it, had to flip the search light upside down, but used the same holes. I can get more detail over the weekend, was an easy install though.

looking for GW replacement items ? Where to find

I had emailed Grady about these too, and was referred to an old OEM with some stock, but was told you just need to get a local screen replacement dealer.

looking for GW replacement items ? Where to find

Hinges, did the research Southco, Amazon had them https://smile.amazon.com/Southco-C6-26-Detent-Hinges/dp/B01DYYNFN2/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Southco+C6-26+Detent+Hinges&qid=1604443612&s=industrial&sr=1-1 This was the strongest one, but still not quite as good as he OEM, but fine. Curtains...

    Gulf Maps

Russ, just ran across this. A fellow Texas GW owner, fishing out of Packery Channel / Port A. I purchased a couple of books that have been very helpful for our area too. I have never really used Google Earth for spots per se, but will have to try. I use the Navionics Chip for my Lowrance...

    Windlass for Marlin 300

Yes indeed, would not even think of anything on salt water that was not stainless.

    Windlass for Marlin 300

My Marlin '05 has the Vertical style, think most came with that type. You can read up on them, but main thing is motor under deck vs. Horizontal has motor above deck, so more intrusive on deck. Vertical suppose to maintain better contact with line and chain.

    ARM REST NEED TO BEREDONE

There are several threads on here about this. The OEM Pompanette Seat arms were not good, and T-shirt grabbers. Mine were very black moldy. One user, Doc Stressor I believe, suggested 50/50 bleach/dawn, I soaked them, it worked great, then used another's suggestion, buy women's ankle sock...

Question about fuel tank usage on 300 Marlin

Both, one motor on each. Evens out as was mentioned, and if there is an issue with one, potentially only one engine loss. Plus, if you are busy fishing and running and forget to switch, won't run dry...
