2000 30' Marlin gas tank switchover

The Dash Toggle just shows you the level in each tank, hopefully you are switching the 3-Way Valves on the Aft Bulkhead to use up fuel in Main Tank too. For me, figuring out the Big Lever or pointer on the Valve did not make sense, but figured out now. They are about 150 gallons each.

    Forward Bilge

Yes, same on Marlin 300, plus the front bilge seems lower point than aft. If it gets high enough will Auto pump, but usually have to manually pump. As stated, Anchor Locker, Windlass seems to be the entry point.

    300 Marlin - 250’s or 300’s?

Most of the older Marlin 300's came from factory with 225's or 250's, as my 2005 did. Don't even think 300's were available options then?. Find the best condition with options such as electronics upgrades, lower hours, new pumps, etc. I believe around '04 '05 they changed the cockpit built in...

    New fishfinder/gps shopping

I had the same problem on my Marlin 300 dash, only the plexiglass doors with an old GPS mounted. I wanted dual 12" Lowrance Lives, but they would not fit. Got 2 Ram Mount Gimbals, heavy duty and swing out both and it works great. Of course, they are not permanently mounted, but no problem, I...

    Newly Inherited Marlin

Contact TriState Marine in Deale, MD, they are the Grady Dealer where I ended up purchasing my vessel, then shipped to TX. They are great people and they can surely put you in touch with someone, also did my sea trial there. One of their mechanics was a Capt.

    Newly Inherited Marlin

I am a little over 1-Year Marlin owner, in Texas. As many said, a lot of boat, and you do not want to turn on the key without understanding or getting some basics. Safety first. Many glad to help, but nothing like experience. This forum has helped me tremendously. Good advice from M.Bill.

    Marlin 300 generator access door

Going to watch for answers too, as I may need at some point. I have had good response from GW customer service. They usually get you in the ballpark of their OEM's for replacements.

    Battery chargers

Just replaced my old OEM, and decided on the Pro Charging System, US company, supposedly US made. Heavy Duty, went with the Dual 15A, each leg, didn't care about bluetooth etc. has LED's, Smart Charge.

    330 Bolster Attachment Ideas

Had my pads redone, she sowed Velcro, soft side, on back of pads where the screws came thru pads, then used these discs with screw back in the same hole on gunnel, great. About 2-2.5" diameter. No glue they are hard pads.

    Marlin 30 owners

EPPEM, I am a relatively new 300 owner, purchased a 2005 last year, great shape, low hour 250s, new GenSet. I fish primarily and like the simple yet useful amenities. Founds this forum when searching and someone on here encouraged me to move up my budget from Sailfish 280, said the extra room...

2000 Marlin buying New Electronics Garmin

Although I use Lowrance, recommend the 1K in Hull Airmars. It was the hardest thing to see 2-4" holes cut into the hull, but I am happy with them, but Marlin has great spots made for them. Even good with holding bottom running. I have the High/Wide, and the High since fishing typically 250'...

    Lowrance Autopilot Commissioning trouble...

Just finished my install on NAC-3, and had to use separate Simrad head unit, but use Lowrance for plotters and everything else. Mine says "needs to be commissioned" too, and waiting for a good day to get out on water. I believe one thing is the Precision-9 Heading Sensor must be calibrated...

    Boat loan?

Had a good experience with Intercoastal. Used them 2X for a Parker and my new to me GW 300 Marlin. All transactions were remote email and mailing signed docs. Same agent used in 2013 & 2019. Intercoastal Financial Group, LLC 124 A North Second Street Fort Pierce, FL 34950

    AP pump location

I had an same problem 2005 Marlin, had Aluminum Bracket made, hung on the plywood under helm. Just finished install, I can send pics and posted a few on another thread. Probably not the quietest spot, but I wanted it close to helm to Tee off. Simrad motor vs. Garmin, so probably a little...

    Picking up shade extension

Well, guess I got beat up for spending $3400 on a Sureshade, first world problem I suppose. But, I am fishing mostly it is out of the way while running and fishing. Just did not want to mess with the klunky poles and straps. Boats are not cheap for sure.

    Picking up shade extension

Depends on use and budget. Picture 2 looks like a SureShade. I have a different version with the Manual Crank, yes, expensive, but installed myself and wanted something that would hold up while running. They had Specs for many GW and the matching Sunbrella Blue.

Autopilot installation in GW 265 Express...

FWIW, I am also adding Simrad Auto Pilot for Twins so had to get the larger pump. I had local sheet metal guy build an Aluminum Bracket to hang under console. Wanted Motor Horizontal per Spec, as weight is balanced this way. Had to move panel to fit Computer for Pilot. Some ideas for others...
