    228 offshore

I would consider your boat an offshore boat as well - just pick your days. I know our weather down south is way may predictable than your location, I take my 208 off shore routinely. Plus the upgrades you made to your pilot house make it so much more comfortable I am sure. Go get em!

Looking for a decent boat cover

I use a Budge cover and they last about 2 years, keep them tight so they don't pool water and they do ok. I don't trailer with mine and I would not suggest it, it is just for sun protection as it sits outside on the trailer. I'm ok replacing every 2 or so years.

    anyone install a thu-hull for washdown in a 208

Pics of the bottom of my 208. As Seasick mentions, I also have 2 thru hulls on my boat, one for the bait tank the other for raw water washdown. They are located at the same location on both sides of the boat.

What have you done to your Grady lately?

Nothing too crazy - under the gunnel led lights. Also, added the lights to the 2 storage units, port and starboard as well as above the bilge area.

    Trim tabs

Agree with above. One of the reasons I am not getting them at this point, it is not worth the $$ for what I use the boat for. I will say, my average trips are offshore in SoCal and approx 30 miles out, up to this point I may have needed them 1 or 2 times heading back in. My boat is a 1999...

    Trim tabs

I have a GW Adventure 208. Most folks would tell me to get trim tabs. For my boating, I have not found the need to get them. The boat tracks well w/o them in most scenarios. Until I ride on a similar boat and experience the benefit, I will not install them.

    solar battery charger

agree on the charger, it is not meant for on the water use. I have it enclosed in a box. That said, they system has served me well for storage on the hard.

    Flushing Engine Water Flow issue

I stopped running my motor using earmuffs a few years back. I didnt think I was getting enough water flow. I started using a flush bag and can run the motor with plenty of flow. (Yamaha F150)

    Anyone in SoCal fishing offshore?

Wish I could join you, I'm out of pocket for the next 2 weekends. Backside of Cat may be out of reach for my Adventure 208 though, long boat ride on a 20 footer. I'm also on a trailer, typically launch out of Oceanside or San Diego.

    solar battery charger

Hi - I've been using solar to keep my batteries topped off in my storage. I just redid my set up with the below panel and controller. I use 1 panel to charge both batteries with SAE quick connects on my battery. I have used this type of set up for over 10 years, my batteries typically last...

New member, question on an older 225.

X2 on what Rob said above, get the motor checked out and factor in the cost of a new motor if worst case scenario shows up. Also at that age, make sure the trailer is in good shape - trailers are expensive if you need to replace.
