Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

Says the man who says he is my internet friend.... Butt in any time you want, you have been both nice and helpful. And you'll be happy to know that I've added trim tabs to my mix, coming home in chop that is light but heavy enough to bounce you around, I add some tabs. I get what you were...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

I'll hit them up, this is exactly what I was looking for, someone else said these guys as well. It's great to get info from you guys, that way I'm not figuring out by chance who is good. Thanks!

    228 Repower

Mustang, I'm no expert but I think the weight of the 228 has increased over the years. Earlier years had wood stringers, I've been told that my 2020 has no wood so it will last longer but is heavier. For my year, 250 is required, 300 is probably better. I'm really confused, not arguing that I...

    228 Repower

Seems like Yammie not shipping for repowers (per Ky) and Mercury looks like it has been out for about 3 years (and you can get them), yeah, lean towards Merc. I've told this story a bunch of times, but when I was shopping for my boat, I talked to a local 6 pack captain. He had the same block...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

I went and looked and I need custom, I want the 4 side holders to have their tops flush with the top of the hardtop and the middle one raised. And the spacing is weird, I have to dodge spreader lights and a radio I had put in under the hard top. If you know of a custom guy, hook me up please...

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

I'm looking for something like this: http://cdn1.bigcommerce.com/server3000/b31b8/products/343/images/666/IMG_9870__11623.1311694801.1280.1280.jpg?c=2 but with the middle one lifted up.

    228 Repower

Ah, got ya. I have a 942 (943?) in port whatever-you-call-the-upper-storage that acts like that. Works in my driveway, doesn't work on the ocean. Useful (not).

    228 Repower

Huh, I have not heard that. What issues? I've had mine for over a year and it has been fine.

Custom rocket launchers for the hardtop?

Or not custom ideally. What I'm looking for is a 5 rod holder with the center one's bottom flush with the bottom of the hardtop but the two on either side dropped down so they are easier to load/unload. Middle one high so you don't bang your head, others low so they are easy. I can't be the...

    228 Repower

I have a 2020 228 with a 250 Yamaha. The 250 works fine but if I were doing it all over again I'd look at a 300. The 250 struggles a little to get on plane when the ocean is lumpy. It gets there, it just isn't as fast as it is in a nice ocean. So 300 _might_ be better if it has more grunt...

    Last of the 228

Unless the dual consoles have canvas/eigenglass that can make a helm like the walk around, they are warm weather boats. The 228 is a fishing *machine*. Great for places that aren't warm. Grady seems be trying (and probably succeeding) to sell to warm weather climates. Center consoles and...

    Last of the 228

While I'm happy for you and know that you will love that boat, I'm really sad to see the end of the 228. I don't get why they stopped making that boat, it's the perfect boat for cold weather. I've toyed with the idea of trying to get them to open up a Grady-White-West that makes that boat for...

    Not my day, lower unit

I go by luckydude because I got lucky and made some money in tech. Not a huge amount but enough that I retired at 54. I used to think it was all my doing, I'm a pretty good engineer, 100Mbit ethernet is a thing because of me, I've done a bunch of stuff, but as I got older I realized that all...

    Not my day, lower unit

So I looked again, it didn't dig in going backwards, the bracket is fine, I think I got really lucky. And I have two new rules: A) I don't care how short a time it has been, walk around the boat *every* time you move it. B) Don't ask for trouble, if the main engine is down to drain, stand...

    Not my day, lower unit

Holy smoke, Doc, that's insane. I maybe ground off the paint on the bottom of the fin, nothing like that. That's a big ouch.

    Not my day, lower unit

Backing didn't dig in, I had it set so it was just barely touching the pavement, it was when I turned the corner and the angles changed, going forward dug in a bit. Seems like I may have dodged a bullet. I'll go look at the bracket today but I think it is fine.
