232 Gulfstream: Props & Motor Height...

Keith, Welcome to the site! I own a 228 and raised my engine up to the highest slot. Seems like every owner has raised the engine up one or more spots that had an issue with performance. Pretty easy to see where your anti ventilation plate is when on plane. Just do it safely if you are alone...

228 Grady owners experience with In Hull transducers

I tried one inside my hull. Mounted it close to the garboard drain. Didn't work well, so I went with a transom mount. Good luck, Lee

    Re-locating batteries on a '92 228G

Agree with Dennis, I would install the motor first to see how big the squat differential is. I would be surprised if it was enough to motivate you to move the batteries.

    1999 Bimini 306 - replacing fuel tanks.

It's a good excuse to go fishing ;) I had to do the exact same thing before I replaced an old 92 gallon tank. Last 8 gallons I had a local company pump out. I admittedly am not a fan of using tools around gas.

    NJ fishing reports

Crazy out west Skunk, White ash was falling down from the sky yesterday from the wildfires raging on. I haven't been fishing in weeks, the air quality index has been off the charts bad. What an insane year....

    offshore 24 fuel tank

On UCPA111's recommendation, I used Patriot Marine as well, couldn't be more satisfied. I did upgrade the sender as he uses Moeller, to a Wema/KUS and installed myself.

    offshore 24 fuel tank

That's an awfully long time if the tank is original. I believe the aluminum tank replacement average is 13 years. That being said, you will never know until you pull it. Corrosion is always worse underneath. I replaced my tank last summer. This is what the bottom looked like. 1987 228 Seafarer...

    Perko dual battery switch

Hey Father's Day, It's best to use the switch on dedicated 1, or alternatively 2. Not on both, you don't want to have a situation where you loose juice on both batteries and can't start your engine. Grady White posts this on their website. Happy Labor Day weekend~ Lee...

    Wicked Tuna

I hear you blindmullet, I was asking people about the show on an entertainment basis. I am so sorry if this was offensive to the real commercial fisherman. Thank you for your perspective~ Lee

No probs JJ!! Good thing you have a spare boat :p

What do you tow your boat with?

Correct, When I load at Pyramid Lake near Reno, it is not just weird winds to contend with. I used to toss heavy spoons off the shoreline bank before I had my 228. I would let the lure hit the bottom and then start my retrieve. Some days the current was so strong, the line would be 45 degrees...

    Nautical Miles/ 228 Seafarer

Yes Doc, It is all about the steep rise of the Continental Shelf. Makes things more problematic for sure. But you explained things spot on. Relates to my experiences too~
