330 Cabin door vents... How were these supposed to work?

So on my 2002 330 Express, the cabin door has four black starboard "vents" inset into it on the inside. The black starboard panels have slats cut into them for ventilation. When you remove these, there is normal house screen behind them (this makes sense, for bugs etc) However, there's a second...

Inatalling Minn Kota rrolling motor and a grill on a GW 330 Exps

As above, the grill is a Kenyon - on my 2002 330 I looked at doing this, although the truth is I find the sink to be pretty useful. I did some basic measuring, compared to my boat the newer boats had a slightly larger / more square opening than my 330 with original sink. My recollection is...

2003 Grady White Express 33 with Suzuki 350 duoprop

1.3 Sounds great - I agree, it sounds like it is worth moving the engines down a hole or two to give you more control. Please keep us posted how it goes. I'd love to repower with these, but definitely want to hear more about handling, weight on transom, mpg and top speed?

Autopilot Compass Location on Grady 330 Express

This makes sense - it might be easier just to take off that odd starboard hatch in the rear berth under the livewell and mount to the back of it. (same general area) There's essentially nothing in there unless you added a subwoofer above. I think my boat had one mounted dead center behind...

    330 Express scuppers

ocdan, so you replaced the deck drains but not the hoses leading to them? I've got the new style replacement deck drains, but in my head it wasn't worth replacing those if I didn't also replace the hoses running to the sides. I could buy the argument that the plastic fittings are way more...

    330 Express scuppers

I can see how the battery side can be done without too much pain (well, removing the batteries) - can you share how you did the starboard side? I assume you cut an access panel somewhere?

Easy addition of 4 rod holders to 330 Express

That looks good! I installed a 7 rod holder across the back which makes it much easier to load the boat, engines still trim up fine as long as I remember to take the rods out.

    Fish locker refrigeration.

Refrigerating the 330 cockpit cooler went great. If you give me a couple of days, I can get you the exact part numbers I used. I’ve only run it on shorter (3-5 hour) trips and it has no problems keeping food and drinks just above freezing - With the setup I’ve got I haven’t seen it actually go...

    GW 330 Express Repower

Sorry, I was unclear - my 2002 was repowered in 2013 with four stroke 4.2 F300s, I meant to indicate that *I* haven't done any prop testing on it vs what I bought the boat earlier this year with. My WOT RPM is a little on the low side but doesn't come up much even trimming the motors way up -...

    2002 33 Express with Yamahas 300 ???

If you can get him to put together some RPM/Speed/MPG numbers that'd be amazing. That sounds like a 25% improvement from my F300s across the board. Unfortunately the early DF350s had some issues but I'm hopeful those have gotten resolved by now.

    GW 330 Express Repower

I bought a 2002 GW 330 which was repowered with 2013 F300s - it came to me with Thunderbolt 15.5 x 17 . Props seem to perform well - acceleration, bite, etc, is excellent. MPG is not stellar (1 mpg is about normal) and top speed is 41-42 on a good day. Holds plane best in 27-30 mph range...

    2002 33 Express with Yamahas 300 ???

I'd be very interested to see the stats on the early boat with twin 350s - cruise/top speed and MPG....

    Oil Change pump?

Check your dipstick as you round the 2 gallon mark - I don't ever recall my DF250s or DF300s taking more than 2 gal although they also spec 9 quarts. As for the pumps - I have had one of the manual suction ones for years and I hate the damn thing. It works but I've always had to use the...

    First engine mistake, how bad?

There's no reason to flush for 15-20 mins unless you're running in the dead sea. Flush for 3-5 mins and stay there while the motors are running. The trough is the best way to do it because at least in theory, the engine will reach operating temp, the thermostats will open etc. You're much...

    2002 33 Express with Yamahas 300 ???

AFAIK Grady doesn't recommend the 300s on the older boats. My impression from reading is that has some to do with transom strength, as well as some to do with overall hull structure. My 2002 has a factory refit where they added new foam stringers in at the forward edge of the aft cabin- I...

    330 Fresh Water problem?

My $0.02 I wouldn't bother with the access hatch unless you're out on the water - that whole side panel comes off with the 8-10 screws around the perimeter and you'll have full access to that cavity. The pumps are mounted on a piece of half inch or so plywood that's glassed into the side, so...

    First engine mistake, how bad?

You have done approximately zero damage to the motor. Make sure you are flushing it the right way for that motor (IE read the manual) now.

Recent 228 and pressure washer OK?

You'll be fine with a 25 deg tip on a pressure washer. Personally I'm a big fan of bleach on boats. It is amazing what a bleach + dish soap solution will clean. That said, any sort of caustic cleaner will "damage" the fiberglass over time and most dedicated boat soap / deck cleaner products...

    #$%^&$% Fischer Panda!

I'm lucky enough to have bought a boat with a good newer FP5000. However, for $10k I would be investigating alternatives pretty hard vs replacing. For me the benefit of the big gen was that I could run helm A/C when it is absurdly hot here in the summer. What do you actually intend to use the...
