    1970 C-Craft P.O.S. project

Re: 1980 Wenzel skiff project Got in a little more work on the Wenzel skiff yesterday. My plan was to quickly Dremel out the spider cracks that needed gelcoat, match the color as best I could and fill them in. As usual that didn't work out for me. When I put the grinding bit to them I found...

Re: New Grady Owner - 221 Pacific, Anyone Have information o It's built on the same hull as the 22 Seafarer and 22 Tournament. Only difference (that I'm aware of) between it and the Seafarer is it doesn't have the recessed walkway that the Seafarer does. It's more like an express. There was...

    Another 24' offshore project...

I think I would actually try grinding it flush and the glassing over the repair. What have you go to lose? :)

    Another 24' offshore project...

Nice work! I am in the same boat with my 227. It isn't nearly the project that your Offshore was and I am thinking hard about parting it out and getting something that I can use right now.

    Seacock replacement

From what I have seen the difference in thread depends upon the valve type. A true seacock (with the mounting flange) has straight threads to match the thru hull. A ball valve has NPT thread and is why you only get partial engagement on the thru hull. Seacock. Ball Valve. There may be...

Best Stuff to use removing Boat Reg #'s

I use a sharp wood chisel or razor blade and lots of caution. Then acetone to remove the adhesive.

    1986 Seafarer 227: 5/6/14 Update - Stringer extension prep

Re: 1986 Seafarer 227: 5/6/14 Update - Stringer extension pr Well, I was never truly happy with how my plug turned out, so I ripped the top layer of it out yesterday and I'm planning to get the rest today. Recoring the I/O hole first would have had me glassing over from the outside. After...

    Grady Fuel Tanks

If you have the drawing/dimensions from Grady any tank builder can replicate it. Shop around for the best price. RDS as mentioned. http://sunshinemarinetanks.com/ http://sunrisemarinetanks.com/ - I used this guy. Cheapest I found, but not a work of art like some others I've seen. No...

    Refinishing a Grady bracket

I will be curious to see how that bedliner holds up. Especially if the boat is kept in a slip where it will be submerged 100% of the time. When I repowered my old Sailfish, I had took the chance to address some issues with the bracket as well. There were several spots where the Gil-coat as...

    1987 yamaha 150 2-stroke blew again

Why not find a used motor instead...or at least something with a good powerhead on it? http://southjersey.craigslist.org/bpo/5120887964.html

    1970 C-Craft P.O.S. project

Little bit of progress to report... Ordered a bunch of stuff for the motor. Water pump, plugs, thermostat, carb kit, gear lube, etc. Drained the old gear lube a few weeks ago. I was/am a little concerned as only about 2 oz came out and portions were discolored as if some water was in there...

Thoughts on bimini vs t-top for 17' whaler

I would do with either the bimini or no shade at all on a boat of that size. IMO T-tops just don't look right on a boat with such low sides.

Soft forward floor on 83 over niter.

I'm betting it's glassed over plywood. Just pull the carpet and see what you're up against. Should be an easy fix...especially if you go back with carpet.

Busted for riding on the bow

I'm pretty sure that's been MD law for at least 25 years. I remember my Dad getting stopped for letting us ride on the bow of his old 31' Silverton.
