Matching awlcraft to late 80s grady

I’m spraying the interior cockpit in some areas and rolling on some new non skid on my 1988 24’offshore. I’m using Awlgrip vs gelcoat. Anyone have success matching to original gel coat color? So far I’ve found egg shell or oyster white to be the closest. Thanks Jason

    Repower/keep 24 or go bigger?

Good information/advice guys appreciate it. Exactly what I’m looking for. For how I currently fish/use the boat I couldn’t think of a more perfect setup. It’s those days where it’s bigger than 2-3’s out and the fishing is great that I would want the bigger setup. I have a Few friends/customers...

    Repower/keep 24 or go bigger?

Hey guys looking for some words of wisdom. Currently running an 88 24’ offshore with an 07 225 etec with approx. 900 hours. Motor runs flawlessly and has been that way the last 3 seasons I’ve owned it. I mostly fish inshore and in the bay but have the itch to venture further out. I’m hesitant...

    Help with cockpit floor replacement.

Hey guys, well I decided to replace the wood coring on my tank hatches which came out great. I also have about a 1’x1’ soft spot on the starboard cockpit floor closer to the fishbox. Decided to address that this winter as well. I basically cut out the whole non skid pattern with my multi tool...

How much is it worth. 07 225 etec .

Hey guys, I got a really good price on a new 4.2 250 Yamaha from my local dealer that I’m planning on putting on my 24’ offshore. What is a realistic number I should ask for my 2007 etec 225 w/ 850 hours. Prop and rigging included. I figured 7500.00 would be fair and I’d probably give it an 8...

    Repowering 88' 24' offshore

The new 4.2 Yamaha’s 225-300 hp weigh 562 lbs!!! That’s only 38 more pounds than my etec. I think with that little of a difference raising the scuppers aren’t necessary.

    Repowering 88' 24' offshore

Currently running a 1988 24' offshore with an open transom powered by a 2007 225 etec. Love this motor and it has ran flawless for the most part for the 3 seasons I've owned it. It does however have ~ 750 hours on it and although I'm confident in running the boat, I'd rather sell it while it's...

2000, 232, grady white gulfstream trim tabs not working

What trim tabs do you have? If Bennett, sounds like your actuators (solenoid valves) aren't working or getting proper voltage. Pump will run but you'll get no oil to your trim pistons.

THE FINER POINTS OF YAMAHA WATER PUMP REPAIR: QUESTIONS

I've always left any lower I pull in neutral. You can always move the flywheel a bit to line up the driveshaft more easily. I've always used a hammer and pointed chisel on the keyway. Hit from top angled slightly and the bottom should start to bulge out. Then just pry up on the bottom with a...

Starting Fischer Panda 4200 generator: Is This Normal?

The "red" oil light I'm assuming is an oil pressure indicator light. You won't get any oil pressure out of the generator until it cranks for a bit. They may be powering the lift pump or injection pump ( if diesel) off the oil pressure switch. I could be wrong, not too familiar with these units.

306 Bimini Shower Sump Pump Not Working

Usually the float/pump are in a box that is mounted to the floor with a few screws. You can remove the screws and pull the whole box out if you have slack in the wiring/hoses, or if you can access the wires I can tell you how to troubleshoot it without removing anything. You should have 12v to...

    Repower Questions

I'm currently running an 88' 24' Grady Offshore (open transom) with an 07 225 E-Tec. Boat has plenty of power for me and I think it's a perfect match. I don't have gph numbers but it seems to be pretty frugal on fuel and oil. I top out anywhere from 40-45 mph (going by GPS) depending on...

HELP ... high RPM'S low speed

-you could possibly have a hub going on the prop, although from my experience when you hit it WOT the boat will not plane and the engine RPMs will shoot way up. -you may be out one cylinder or have low compression in one cylinder. If you like the boat enough I would have a seasoned tech come...
