    Another 24' offshore project...

Just about finished my flush mount panel for the electrical box. Wanted to flush mount but not lose all that room back there so I made a small hatch so I can still throw my phone/wallet etc back there. Still have to adjust the piano hinge a touch on the door to make the gaps more even. This...

    Stripe Decal Patches?

I would just replace all of it rather than deal with a bunch of patches. I've done a few of them and they've come out great. Make sure you get the stripes that come together on one sheet. I've seen people get the larger and smaller stripe individually and that turns into a project trying to...

Any issues with installing thru-hull in forward fuel hatch?

Re: Any issues with installing thru-hull in forward fuel hat I should have mentioned in my original post that I was planning on installing a 10-20 gallon holding tank in the forward hatch as well. The marina I work at/keep my boat at has a pump out so I will most likely not even install a...

Any issues with installing thru-hull in forward fuel hatch?

Planning on installing a thru-hull/sea water valve in the forward fuel tank compartment for my electronic head (my forward compartment is empty). Only issues I can think of would be not getting water to the head while the boat is on plane (I wouldn't be using the head while running the boat...

    Another 24' offshore project...

Been awhile since I put any time into the boat. Put in two new speakers to replace the original ones that came with the boat. Also made a new stern access panel. Have plans this winter to install an electronic head/holding tank, new stereo/VHF flush mount panel, and washdown pump setup. Cheers!

    lower unit cooling

How many trips are you getting out of it before it turns black? The lower unit gets cooled for the most part by being submerged in water. If your lower unit is in good shape (pressure test ok , not losing oil, vaccuum test ok, not taking in water) you should be able to get a season out of it...

    Warning horn / buzzer HELP

There is a chance that the previous owner bypassed or got rid of it. Its usually right behind the keyswitch. Did you have the ignition on when grounding the temp wire? Old carb johnsons with the VRO's have a few alarms. No oil flow, low oil in resevoir, fuel restriction, and overheat...

    Another 24' offshore project...

Finally had a Sunday to myself. Replaced all the cockpit teak with starboard. I didn't have a full 8' sheet of 3/8" material so I had to make the long pieces along the gunnel out of 3' sections with 45* miters. Next are the bulkheads, doors, and helm teak.

Would anyone be interested in having starboard work done?

Re: Would anyone be interested in having starboard work done Great Grady Members, I was recently offered a job at a different Marina that I couldn't pass up. Unfortunately I will no longer have the shop I used for all my starboard work. Hopefully in the future I will have my own place where I...

    Battery education

I dont see how the float/bilge could drain 4 batteries in a 3 week period unless you had obvious water pouring into the boat (broken thru-hull etc). Your boat self bails so most of the water would not even make it to the bilge if it were to rain hard. Once you get the battery situation...

how does this macerator thing work?

That's exactly how we winterize them at my yard. Empty holding tank (we have a pumpout station), pull off the raw water hose that feeds the head on the pump handle assembly and run some antifreeze through it pumping it into the bowl. Pour some antifreeze through the other direction until it...

    Battery education

Does your charger have an amp gauge on it? If so was it putting out? If not, I would buy a multimeter with a clamp on amp gauge and see how many amps are being put into each battery. I find it odd that all 4 would be completely dead. I work at a Marina and we sell Interstate batteries. We...

    24 offshore Total rewire

I just pulled mine out today. When i go back down tomorrow to winterize the engine and shrinkwrap the boat, I will take pictures of where the fuse panel is. I read your pm and I'm not sure how deep the original tanks are in the Gradys. You'd be better off calling Grady and finding out.

Custom dash panel for 330 Express

I would be able to make it out of starboard for you. I would just need dimensions and templates for your electronics. Heres a link to my thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22559 Let me know if you're interested.

    Another 24' offshore project...

Well my lower unit crapped out on me Wednesday night. Coming back in with the old man from some night fishing it was making some odd noises. Threw it into reverse to back into my slip and cruch no reverse. Couldnt have happened at a better time. Previous owner agreed to give me 500.00...
