    My fight with the pulpit

Says who? I've built dozens of bow pulpits out of two pieces of 3/4" starboard doubled up. Plenty strong. They don't crack, split, fade or require any up keep at all.

    My fight with the pulpit

Why don't you just have someone make one for you out of starboard  . You won't have to patch anything ever.

Transom mounted transducer location w/ grady drive?

Haha, yea that first picture is pretty usless. I was just trying to show it was mounted straight down from the wire lol. Yea I'm going to haul it out this weekend if I get a change and move it over. Hate to keep drilling holes in the boat.

    Restoring the Floor Panel

I say try to fix it yourself. Starboard would need to be reinforced from underneath with that size of a piece. This is a great project to learn how to do glasswork because it won't require you to have a nice finish as it will be underneath the floor and you won't have to look at it. I say go...

Transom mounted transducer location w/ grady drive?

I think Im going to try and split the distance between where it currently is and the bracket, and mount it further down. Really my only option I guess.

Transom mounted transducer location w/ grady drive?

I'd have to go take a look the boats in the water, but I'm pretty sure I mounted it so its hanging down right by the horizontal part of the chine. It's pretty much installed where the trim tab would be installed if the boat had them. Only thing I can think of is to mount it lower/more inward...

Transom mounted transducer location w/ grady drive?

Just sold my 1988 22' seafarer and I installed a Lowrance GPS/Depthfinder for the new owner. Bay tested the boat this morning and the transducer is shooting up water onto the engine cowling. The new owner didn't really mind, but I told him I would take care of it and didn't want to sell him...

Where to buy new complete set of windows?

Yes I have actually. I could go with 90's windows where they have more rounded edges or even later ones that are more circular. Yes a lot of work but at the point I'm at this woldn't really be a problem to do. Only thing that would look dumb would be the 80's style windshield with the newwer...

    1995 272 Sailfish

Here is what I do when I'm pricing the boats I sell. Go to "yachtworld.com" or any other boat sales website. Put it the year or year range/size of your boat in order to get an idea of what they are going for in certain areas. In your case I would put in 1990-2000 27 Grady White and see what...

How I Replaced fishbox drain pipe and thru hulls in Seafarer

Re: How I Replaced fishbox drain pipe and thru hulls in Seaf I am not looking forward to doing this on my 24' offshore restoration. Everytime I work on the boat I have that thought in the back of my mind "when it's time to replace those it's going to suck". Glad it worked out for you.

    oil pressure?

Oil pressure will decrease idling after a hard run because of the change in viscosity of the oil due to temperature. Like mentioned above, after idling for awhile oil temp will decrease making it "thicker" in a sense and oil pressure should increase/ be higher. This is also why some people...

Where to buy new complete set of windows?

The original window frames on my 85' 24' offshore resto are shot and probably not worth my time if I can buy a whole new set. I tried googling and no such luck. Does anyone know if you can even get them anymore from a Grady dealer? I would like to get a completely new set even with the glass...

    Teak Oil & Sealer

Only thing I know is to keep sanding/oiling it or get a few coats of varnish on it. That or replace it with starboard!

    Stripped Out Screw Hole

Just use resin with West Systems filler.. Make it thick like peanut butter. Use something to make a shelf/base for the filler to lay down on out of plastic (it will not stick to the plastic). Once it cures pull off the plastic and sand/cut the filler to shape. You need to use an...
