Thoughts on 24' offshore with a 200 HPDI?

Looking at an 87' 24' Offshore with an 01 200 HPDI on it with only 400 hours. The owner is the original owner of the boat and claims its in great shape ( it looks to be clean in the ad). It has the factory hardtop, full enclosure curtains in good shape, and a new fuel tank which is what I was...

New to me 85' 24' Offshore (Project)

Putting boat, and everything I've made for it up for sale. My side business has picked up immensely, have no time to finish. My 17' whaler will do for now.

    XO-66 Yamaha 250 2 cycle?

I agree with seasick, if it was a fuel problem your boat would most likely not even plain.

    Old mercury black max issues

Check your fuel pickup tubes. The screens at the bottoms may be clogged. Sounds like you've handled everything in-between the tanks and the motors. Try running on a portable tank and see if the issue happens again. I would say carbs are due for rebuid, or your fuel pickups are clogged. Have...

Blue Seas Systems also has very nice products that I am a big fan of. Worth taking a look at.

yes, theres usually a brass drain plug for a slotted screwdriver on the bottom of the float bowl. Would be located on the bottom most part of the Carb (if you're unfamiliar).

    Grady 33 gas generator

check for any breakers that may have tripped/off on the generator itself. Does it have an electric fuel pump? Or any kind of lift pump to get fuel from the tank to the generator? If it does, make sure you hear it running when cranking/priming the generator. If it is carb'd and was fogged out...

Leave the screws alone, most likely not the issue. Sounds to be like you are either running rich or lean. Have you ever had the carbs done? Carb cleaner is a joke and does nothing, you have to pull the carbs and completely take them apart for them to work properly. I'm thinking one of the...

Teak & Holly cabin sole fabrication

That came out great, we do tons of these jobs at the yard I work at. Would look even better with the mounting screws countersunk and plugged.

What did you do yourself? Carb engines are fairly easy to fix, I wouldn't give up just yet. That little difference in the one cylinder will not make it noticably "run like crap". Make sure your fuel is clean (no water in the tank, no water in the seperator). Make sure each cylinder is...

Thoughts on bimini vs t-top for 17' whaler

My two concerns were mounting it and it being in the way when casting. The fiberglass on this boat is very thin. On that site they say to use 5200 as well to aid in mounting strength.

Thoughts on bimini vs t-top for 17' whaler

Bought a 17' whaler for the summer and I finally got a chance to start working on it. It came with a bimini, but the previous owner never used it. The frame needs to be cleaned up and the canvas is bright blue which doesnt really go with the boat. I would most likely just buy a whole new...

89 Seafarer 98 Johnson - Having power issues

Run the engine at 1500-2000 rpm( best done in gear in the water having someone else drive). Pull off each plug wire with plug wire pliers one at a time and make sure you hear a strong difference. This will rule out packs/coils/wires/plugs. Doubt its a fuel issue since you pretty much went...

    Battery charging question

You have to charge them individually OR hook up the leads to one battery and put your battery switch on ALL. With the switch off and one lead connected to positive on battery one and the other to ground on battery two, it will not charge both batteries because they are two seperate banks at...
