    Re Power

I would check your transom and also consider weight. I redid mine and had a custom bracket built to offset the weight of newer motors. My 1984 Seafarer is equipped now with a 300 Verado ( I repowered in 2018 with new). If you want some ideas....checkout my youtube page...

    offshore 24 fuel tank

I pulled mine in my 1984 Seafarer. Top wasn't too bad. Bottom was. I had Patriot Marine Fabricating in NJ make mine. He makes GW size tanks. Paul Spisak. Great guy and great price and delivery ( I am in NW PA). You can checkout my videos on my YOUTUBE page if you want to see it.

Need advice on buying a Grady

Paid $2800. Put quite a bit into it with electrical redo, coosa board, epoxy, glass, electrical panel, bracket, trailer, electronics, and new Verado. New ones were over $100,000. I didn't want to go that route. Very pleased. I knew I wasn't doing it to get all my money out if I sold it.

    2016/ 228 Seafarer 300 HP

Will do...but not this weekend. 5-10' waves over the last few days with northerly winds...according to the sea buoy! Love the Seafarer on the lake.

    2016/ 228 Seafarer 300 HP

I run a 2018 L6 Verado 300 on my 1984 Seafarer with hard top. I am running a rev4 17P prop (4 blade) and get 2.74 mpg at 28-32 mph with 3/4 fuel, 4-5 guys, and full gear. I drop to 2 mpg at 40 mph. Top end on GPS on lake with no wind has been 51 with perfect tweaking of the trim and such and...

Need advice on buying a Grady

Used to be. Dad had his captain's license (6 pack) through the 80s and 90s and as a youngster I worked as a mate. 25' Tiara. 34" Luhrs Sportfisherman. And I also worked on a 30' Penn Yan. good times!

Need advice on buying a Grady

My Dad drives. I rig the lines and net fish. Then 3 others will be reeling in fish and such. We have a system that works pretty well....but I also have a lot of room in the cockpit of this seafarer. If you checkout my youtube videos...you'll see what I mean.

Need advice on buying a Grady

+ 1 for the Seafarer. Pound for pound...just a fantastic boat. I routinely fish 5 guys on mine...trolling 10 rod spread on Lake Erie. Easy to tow....I pull the kids on a 2 person tube. It's as comfortable on the hook as it is trolling (very stable)...

    Worth the Wait

Dan...great story. I had a sea nymph 16' that I've used but missed my time on Lake Erie in a more seaworthy craft. Prior to "real life" after college, my parents had a 25' Tiara and then a 34' Luhrs. I spent summers on the water and worked on charter boats. After college, life started and...

    Bought a 2000 Seafarer 228

Congratulations! Hope you have many years of fun with it. I find the seafarer to be one heck of a 22' boat. Mine is a bit older...1984. Most expensive $2800 I've ever spent (lol...the purchase price was the cheap part)...but the memories I'm making with my grandfather, dad, and son are awesome.

    228 Repower

Not sure you can necessarily go wrong with any of the brands right now. I repowered my 1984 model Seafarer with a Mercury Verado L6 300. I went all digital and have power steering. It's awesome. If you want some videos...let me know.

On the water impressions of my 228

Nice! Love the Seafarer. Easy to tow, launch and retrieve. You could look at adjusting the foot rest for the helm. My Dad is 6'4" and 250ish. We installed new seats and he seems pretty happy to drive all day long. We did remount the footrest at a height he liked. I repowered and upgraded...

    Seafarer floor storage.

Yeah....it was soft and I was moving panels around to make things work. I used the one cover for the doors over the storage area. We split it...took out the wood...put in coosa board and glass/epoxy. Very pleased with it.

    Newbie to Site

I purchased my trailer from S&S Marine in Norfolk VA. I took a tour of their shop and saw some of the towers/tops they were making and they looked great to me. Gary is the contact. I believe his son Mike builds the tops. https://www.s-smarine.com/boat-hard-tops/
