    Worth the rebuild?

No. I had a small area I replaced in the fuel tank area that seemed to be due to a penetration. Ground it out and reglassed. Otherwise, they were in good shape. I did cut back the stringers when I redid the transom and they were hard. I re-used the pieces and also sistered them to add...

    EPIRB?

Just bought the same bag with the same EPIRB. Where do you register them? Edit: Never mind. I didn't see the paperwork was stuck under a flap in the box. I was going crazy thinking there's no way it has no paperwork!

    Worth the rebuild?

1984 Seafarer here. Purchased in 2017. Wet transom. Did a total restoration and enclosed the transom. I have a link to videos here. The newest video summarizes the finished product. Crazy amount of fishing room in a 22' seafarer with a bracket. Check it out! I used COOSA...

    1984 seafarer transom crack

Congrats in the Seafarer. I purchased my 1984 seafarer in 2017. I spent a year restoring it. My transom was the notched style and it was in bad shape. I redid the transom (and the boat) with my Dad. It was a great project. I love the seafarer and the 1984 model is seaworthy, capable...

New Cabin Rod Holders. What do you think?

Oh yeah. The rods are Fenwick down rigger rods. Amazing rods. But...yes...2 piece. 8'+ rods.

New Cabin Rod Holders. What do you think?

Yeah...8'+ rods. 2 Piece. Trolling on Lake Erie. Downrigger Rods. No chance of them going in without coming apart.

New Cabin Rod Holders. What do you think?

I saw a concept like this somewhere and ended up making a prototype and then routing this one out of plastic. Approximately 15.5" Tall x 9.5" x .75" HDPE. SS hinges. I still need to add some bungee hold downs...but I am pretty pleased. Keeps the rods off the floor (away from kids feet when...

Propellor being used on 228G Seafarer and 250 Four Stroke

+1 for calling Ken. He helped me with my 300 Verado on Seafarer. My outboard dealer was not much help....installed a used 3 blade. Was fast but not great on the launch and not hitting appropriate RPMs. When from 19P 3 blade to 17P 4 blade and it is fantastic. Rev4 is the prop I have...

bow lifting eye moving up & down

Right. Very difficult to get hands in there. Tough to unscrew the bolt. Tough to tighten everything back up. I did bed in epoxy to make sure I had a good attachment and stability.

bow lifting eye moving up & down

this is essentially what the new piece I made looks like. I had 1/2" aluminum...but the structural pieces look the same. Well done!

    86' 240 Offshore Restoration

I believe if you're cutting from the outside you would NOT cut through the inside layer. Otherwise, you defeat the purpose. I attacked mine from the inside. It requires removing the gunnel to fit in the new transom core. But, I did it this way to also beef up stringers/etc. and I was...

    Seafarer Storage Ideas

I moved my main tank forward and turned the extra space into a compartment. I built a shelf to hold my batteries and have a ton of space for bait bucket, planer boards, and bumpers. Check it out at about 7:35 mark in my video:
