    Needed some Sun!

Boat has been in the garage since September. Decided to pull it out and clean it off a little. Buffed the hull and such a couple months ago. Eager to go boating and fishing!!!

    Tow Vehicles

2018 Powerstroke. Doesn't break a sweat and makes towing easy and comfortable. My 2nd Diesel. First was a 2012 crew cab long bed in same color scheme. Liked it so much I went for the same thing when I ordered the new one.

    228G Restoration

Nice job! Great to see some "restoration" of the older models. Love my '84 Seafarer.

Compilation video of my Mercury Verado on my Seafarer - Longing for summer days and FREEDOM!

The Yamahas were my other real option. Believe it or not, even though I am near Erie, PA, it is difficult to find a dealer of outboards over 100hp.

    Gulfstream Cabin Rod Storage

I have 14 rods on my Seafarer. Run 10 typically (Trolling - Lake Erie - Walleye and Trout) and have rods with some other line options in the cabin.

Compilation video of my Mercury Verado on my Seafarer - Longing for summer days and FREEDOM!

Continuing to make some improvements on my 1984 seafarer. I've shared my repower several times, but haven't made a video (until this evening) of the Verado in action. Enjoy. We are definitely fortunate to have so many choices. Can you really go wrong with any motor right now? Sure, there are...

    Adding a hardtop

You can look around and sometimes find used. Or, you can have one made. I believe these folks build for GW: https://www.wmwmarine.com I also came across this company that I saw some of their work and it looked great. https://www.s-smarine.com

    Gulfstream Repower

I assume you're going with the V8 version? I repowered my 1984 Seafarer with the I6 supercharged version -2018 model. I am running a 17P Rev4 4 blade. Originally had a19P mirage 3 blade. Dialed right in and very pleased with how it handles. I went with power steering (which I think is...

    Seafarer 22 purchase

I restored the boat. 1984 model. New transom (was a 226 model and I enclosed the transom). New engine bracket with oversize flotation compartment. Moved fuel tank forward for weight distribution. My capacity plate was toast. I put a new one on that says 300hp.

    Seafarer 22 purchase

I was always a fan of inboards (ran charters on a 30' Penn Yan and my parent's 34' Luhrs - those boats had twin 350's and 454's respectively). Prior to the Luhrs, my dad had a 25' Tiara Pursuit with I/O. It was more of a pain to fish around the engine box. I have no problems with the...

    Seafarer 22 purchase

I run my 1984 model on Lake Erie. Can be a nasty, short period chop. Been caught in 5-6' waves with it and felt safe and that I'd get home. Boat handles more than people can. Are you talking about an I/O drive? They are less common. I haven't personally seen one. Personally, I love the...

    2002 Seafarer 228 repower

Repowered my 1984 model Seafarer when I enclosed the transom and added a bracket. I don't know how you go wrong with any of them. I went with 300 Mercury Verado and digital throttle and shift, vesselview, and power steering. It's awesome. Am I nuts for putting that kind of $$$ into a 1984...

    Starboard, marine plywood or ?

I found what I wanted at home depot. I did NOT want the look of starboard. It also can warp with heat/etc. I wanted some character. And, with what I did to the plywood prior to covering I don't see how it won't last.

    New wheels and tires

I only intend to dip in salt twice this year (once to put boat in and once to pull it out). I figure I'll wash/hose it off well. Hope they can handle this minor amount of salt!

    New wheels and tires

I purchased through RECSTUFF and they matched the lowest price I could find which was $94/rim.

    New wheels and tires

Yes. I added the front set to straighten it out when loading. I am very pleased with how it works. I normally fight wind on Lake Erie.

    New wheels and tires

You were my inspiration! Funny thing is I ordered the T02's (T03 were also in consideration but didn't want to be a copy cat - lol). I ordered 5...received 4 TO2's and 1 TO3. LOL!

    New wheels and tires

I tow my 1984 Seafarer with an Aluminum Loadmaster trailer I purchased new. My typical tow distance is about 30 miles each way (to Lake Erie). This summer, I intend to tow it to South Carolina for some Atlantic fun. Decided to upgrade my galvanized 14" wheels to aluminum and in the process...

Re power 2000 seafarer with 4 stroke

I was all set to go 250....and a buddy said you need to go 300. Uhh...yeah....300 it is. Heck...I'd put this on: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercury-400HP-Verado-25-Shaft-Right-left-available-CF-White-As-New/324018794192?hash=item4b71066ed0:g:vuEAAOSwm8Zd~Ptg
