    271 CANYON TO KEYS

Hmm...I can't either. I'll see if I can dig it back up.

    Cleaning Her Up

Aquanut2: Eva Dry is my brand of choice. They are made in Tampa, I think. Yes, they are A/C powered. You may have an easier time of it in NC than we do in Fla. Moisture is a huge problem here, so I just run the two Eva Dry's 24/7.

Opinions- New enclosure GradyBlue or OffWhite?

Skunk: Another vote for off white here. I have it on my 2018 Marlin. Echoing others, it's easy to keep clean, kind of a slick material, and it looks good.

    Freedom 325 - Transom Lettering

Opinions on this will be subjective, as you know. Here's mine: I think it's perfect in the pic. Think about the name "Disjointed." Between the style of lettering and the way it wraps around the rod holder semicircle it gives off a "disjointed" appearance. In present form, it's kind of a...

    GW Delivery Delays?

Dhirsh has written the best and easiest to understand explanation of why delays are happening. Props...

Trailering - motors up or down?

Ah, I see now; The belt loops over the trim cylinders & keeps the wood in place. That is a neat configuration; Nice job Lt Mike!

Trailering - motors up or down?

Lt. MIke: Interesting; I would be concerned that after hitting a bump underway, the engine might raise up enough to let the wood block slide out. Never a problem with that? Is that an older Merc?

Trailering - motors up or down?

I feel this is worth mentioning again: We tried to get M-y Wedges for my 350's and could not find them. As I stated in my reply, Yamaha has their version of them available. We went with them and they work exactly the same as the m-y wedges. As several have stated, they are the way to go.

Trailering - motors up or down?

I'm with KY Grady on the M-y Wedges. I used them on my Gulfstream's F200's years ago. When I trailered my Marlin to Michigan in '19 I tried to order a pair for my V8 350's. What we found was the identical product with Yamaha's name on them. Yam either bought them out or copied their design and...

    Single engine on larger boat?

Trout: Your most welcome; I don't focus on the technical aspects- my mind doesn't work that way. I immediately thought of the aforementioned gas tanks, the knob you pulled out to choke the Evinrude/Johnson before you started it; 50-1 oil mix... If this keeps up Society tomorrow will make...

    Single engine on larger boat?

It's rather remarkable if you go back to the 60's when we were puttering around in our Dad's 16 footer with a 50 HP Evinrude. (Anyone ever have the Evinrude "Cruise-A-Day" 6 gallon metal gas tanks? I'm showing my age here...) The technological advances from then 'till now are mind-blowing if...

Joining the others in sending kudo's; boat's rockin'... Couldn't tell from previous shots that your Seafarer needed a sand/compound job. Certainly looks good here....

    Yamaha 350 outboard

93 Marlin 28: "Underpowered" is a subjective term; I have been on two or three 33 Expresses with 250's and I think they are definitely underpowered. You spin the mils at or near 4800-4900RPM to keep it just above 30 mph netting 1.1 or 1.2 MPG. Others will say the 250's are fine. It's all...

    AC - worth it?

Same area here. We use ours year round, although some nights in Winter season we do not after cold fronts move through and we have NW to NE winds for a few days post-passage. If you do opt for it, you'll notice that the cooler water temps during winter here, (65-75 degree spread) allows the unit...

    Kicker on 228??

Don't let him kid you; KY's boat looks as good as the one your referring to. His procedures should be required reading on how to keep a Grady in fightin' shape even when towed through multiple states.

Transom Rebuild - The Saga Begins

Fish: This is technical stuff I don't relate to or understand. I am therefore sending good wishes and a reasonably priced and (hopefully) quick fix for you. Certainly sorry you have to wade thru this. Best! Magic....

    228 gross & net tonnage?

Got curious and looked...Weight w/o engine is 3510, so by the time you add the 250 Yam, several hundred lbs of fuel, gear, and "Ling Bait" (whatever that is) your still heading past 4000 lbs+ without the trailer.

    228 gross & net tonnage?

Luck: I don't know what else you'd do other than just tell them what the boat weighs. Trailer included with full fuel it's probably bouncing off 6K. Boat alone would be..what? 45-4800? I'm guessing..the Grady site would tell you.

    New to me! 2001 Sailfish

Looks like it has 200 HPDI's. I've read those engines have a great reputation. Can't help on the mesh bag. Congrats on the cool boat!

    Wahoo!

Thanks Wahoo: I suppose like anything, you get accustomed to proper protocol concerning bears and take the necessary steps to stay safe. Walking thru the woods with bears about would scare the crap out of me..I guess everyone's comfort zone is different; I'll snorkel and swim while many I know...
