282 Sailfish - Water in fuel!?!?

Most of the things you did were fine. Two things were not 100% correct. The first is in general you should not use sealant on the sender gasket. Using it isn't the worst thing in the world but using the wrong sealant can cause issues. You stated you used the correct sealant The second is that...

    Yamaha 115 4 stroke sputter/stalling. Help!

My bad.I did look up 2 stroke.. In this case, ignore my comments. I would definitely measure fuel pressure output at the VST first as well as checking filters and the like. Are you able to squeeze the primer bulb (motor not running) until it gets firm? When the motor acts up does the primer bulb...

    Yamaha 115 4 stroke sputter/stalling. Help!

I strongly recommend that you get a genuine Yamaha pump. There are some garbage pumps on the aftermarket world. The Yami pump is not that expensive, $50 maybe? You may see that there are rebuild kits. Don't be tempted.

282 Sailfish - Water in fuel!?!?

How did you test for water in the fuel? How did you filter the tanks? The most accurate way to check for water is to pull the sender and either hand pump out a sample or buy water detection paste that you apply to a thin stick and dunk in the tank. In addition, if you drained a half gallon of...

    Yamaha 115 4 stroke sputter/stalling. Help!

Not easily. If it has never been replaced, it probably is time... I see there is only one for your motor part number 6E5-24410-10-00 If you have access to a fuel pressure tester, the first step would be to test the pressure at the VST output. If the low pressure pump is bad, the VST will get...

    Hydraulic steering problem

It could take a while. It all depends on how small or large an internal leak there is. One trick to avoid having to hold the wheel for a period of time is to turn the wheel to one side and hang a heavy weight from a rope tied to the wheel at a spoke position that is horizontal. The weight...

    12V Feed For 2000 Seafarer E-Box?

I wouldn't think it originates at the battery. More likely it is fed from the fuse block at the helm

    Hydraulic steering problem

this is a pretty old thread. You may want to start a new one. In the meantime, do this test. With the motor down, turn the wheel in one direction until you reach the end on the movement. Put a reasonable amount of pressure , hold the wheel with the pressure applied, note where the wheel is (...

    Cup holder/ rod holder ?

Go to the Gemlux website and look up rod holder products. Scroll through that section and you will eventually see a diagram of a boat deck and the recommended orientation and angle based on location.

180 Sportsman, what prop to get?

All else being equal, a SS prop will have better performance under load. That is due to the fact that SS is stiffer and there will be less blade flexing. SS blades can be made thinner also and that can improve performance too. The cons for SS over AL is mainly cost and potential damage to the...

    Battery problem 2022 Freedom 235

My guess would be it connects to a negative terminal. Before connecting it, I would make an attempt to find out what doesn't work. Then after you connect the green wire, those things should now work. Does that green wire have an inline fuse?

    2017 F250 with new tach gauges ?

If the gauge is OK but there is a data bus issue, the screen would not be blank I think.

    2017 F250 with new tach gauges ?

Does that side motor start?. The best pain in the neck way to test is to swap guages and see if the problem now occurs on the other side. If you can get to the back of the gauges, you may be able to swap the harness connector. and avoid actually removing the gauge.

    Hairline cracks

Gelcoat is very brittle. It will recrack in no time if there is any movement. For now just to keep water out, apply a sealant/caulk like Life Seal

    2000 Adventure 208 is 150 HP enough???

On my 2001 208 with a SX150, if you put two decent sized fishing buddies aft in addition to myself and I haven't changed the scupper flappers in a while, your feet will get wet!
