I saw the same thing but I looked further and twins or trips are options.

    buffer recommendations

I don't know about Groats. I never saw one. With respect to cordless, I may be wrong but my assumption is that cordless would be bulkier and heavier.

    buffer recommendations

Shurhold makes several models. https://shurhold.com/pages/buffers I don't know first hand how well the smaller randoms will do on decks especially anti-slip decks. I would imagine that you might need brushes instead of pads to get into the groves. Shurhold has brush attachments. There are less...

    Engine Setup Enquiry - 370 Express, Dual 450hp XTO's

My initial calculations were so far off from what you would like to see that I questioned my methods. I ran all the test data through two different prop calculators and got similar results. The Grady 370 with 425s works out to about 10,5% slip Your numbers ( which I find hard to be so far off...

    Engine Setup Enquiry - 370 Express, Dual 450hp XTO's

What performance data are you getting and what did you expect? The mounting hole #3 is the recommended setting from Yamaha but the prop recommendations depends on what your priorities are.

Helm seat upgrade - 180 Sportsman

Years back I used this for my 208. It is a 6 inch extension but I needed only about 2 inches. I cut the shaft of the extension and filed it smooth. Of course it is a fixed length so you can't adjust it once installed but the up side is that you can remove it if you want to restore the seat to...

Replacing batteries on a Marlin 300

Check that your engines are compatible with AGMs. Also check that your engines are OK with deep cycle batteries versus starting types. Not all engines are. Some models of starting AGM batteries(like Optima Blue) specify that they should not be used as deep cycle batteries for constant loads...

Gel Coat spider cracks - any thoughts

That chine may have impacted something like a piling or a dock. Where is it located along the hull? Keep an eye on it to see if more cracking occurs. That could mean that the area if flexing from some sort of internal weakness

    Buying a 2005 Gulfstream

What does sitting low mean to you? Are the lower units out of the water completely when the motors are raised? Are the deck scuppers throughhulls above the water line or are they submerged? When your surveyor checked the moisture in the deck, was the moisture at the transom and hull checked...

    Tournament 205 with Shore Power?

The quality of the battery maintainer is important. If you go that route get a decent unit. Your concerns are valid since a poor wiring approach can cause a fire or galvanic action at the slip which can eat at your sacrificial anodes and then not so sacrificials as well as any neighbors. So...

    Scandvik transom shower handle

Teflon tape generally will not make a tighter seal if the fittings are NPS. NPS connections require a flat washer to seal. Where you can get away from the issue is when the female side is NPT and the male side in NPS since the taper of the female side can squeeze the male nipple. If the fittings...

    Scandvik transom shower handle

I am curious as to whether the new handle leaks. Have you installed it yet? The issue is the threads. The Scandvik as far as I know uses a somewhat odd version of NPS thread. If you got chrome pipe nipples at HD they would be NPT, tapered thread.

    Horn Replacement ?

I agree with Skunkboat. The replacement horns are junk. If you get 3 or 4 seasons out of one, you are ahead of the game. The issue with the units is that the cover may be stainless, the diaphragm and vibrator adjustment aren't and the guts corrode. One thing that can help a bit is to use it more...

280 Marlin speed and fuel economy with 4 strokes

I am not sure what the WOT limit is for that motor. I think it is 6000 revs. Actually, I read that 5000 to 6000 is the 'operating range' Your design target WOT revs should be no less that 10% below engine spec so if the spec is 6000, anything 5400 and above is reasonable. Since you have a 4...

    Fiberglass repair

That is significant damage. With your limited experience with fiberglass repairs, you should have it professionally repaired. The rub rail should be removed. Note that if the seal between the deck mold and the hull mold that is behind the rub rail, is compromised you take the chance of water...
