Marine Paint Question for Engine Bracket

Drifter, I have nuts on the inside also (that does not sound right LOL), and there are 2 backing plates on mine inside the transom. Not sure if it came that way or PO added them. When I reattached I slowly torqued the nuts like I would do to a car tire, and added loctite red for peace of mind...

Marine Paint Question for Engine Bracket

Correct, I detached both my engine and bracket 5 years back to re seal the transom and bracket. The bolts were only held in by the adhesive used to bed them. A light tap with a hammer on the outside of the transom and they were free to remove.

Been watching your thread Hitch, agree with Lite Tackle and glad you found a good dealer. New Canvas Color: Ivory or Navy?

I have navy on my boat as well. Couldn't pay me to use ivory because of what you said about cleaning. If a spot shows up that can't be cleaned off, that would drive me nuts. Think bird poop :( There's a tipping point for everyone that deals with as far as how much time are you willing to spend...

    Fuel fill hose replacement.

That section was under the fishbox, the outer skin probably cracked as I was pulling it around the bend there. The hose sections at the gunnel and fuel tank looked acceptable. Better quality hoses can really hold up internally it seems.

    Fuel fill hose replacement.

Osprey, What Dennis and wrxhoon said is spot on, I am only going to add that replacing the main and vent lines is a major deal for most. You will need to cut open your deck hatch to attach the new lines. That's at a minimum. I had to cut out extra access to get the old main hose out during my...

    Floor board sealing (or not)

Don, No such thing as a dumb question, or else you would not have asked. You need to seal them both along all the edges. Tape off the areas for a clean job! GE silicone II in almond is the best color match in my opinion, but other sealants will work also. Lee

    Pyramid Lake

Correct, The lake officially closed today. Was able to get out yesterday with a friend visiting from Cape Cod. We both felt a bit odd about enjoying ourselves in the midst of current events. I think the Tribe did the correct thing. It is a privilege having access to this fishery, but there are...
