    Tilt and trim seals

Wishing you luck on the replacement. Mine wasn't an easy job getting off the trim caps with a spanner. I have a Honda BF200. Maybe the Yamie caps have deeper holes the spanner wrench sets into. My wrench kept sliding off with force as the holes not really deep enough to offset the horizontal...

    New Wire Marine Panel

Planning on using existing harness. I pulled the old panel off a few months back, and the connecters seemed serviceable, but will do as I need to. But fingers crossed for a plug n play replacement. Thanks for the tip about the Deoxit D5. Was planning on using dielectric grease.

    Starboard, marine plywood or ?

freddy063, That is interesting, thanks for bringing it up. The bulkheads are not attached to the structural integrity of the hull, so different applications can apply. I used marine grade plywood/epoxy on edges on my replacement, but I will not have water in contact with the bulkheads very...

    PFD

I just got into the habit of wearing one all the time when I go out alone. This happened 3 years ago after hearing the story of a man who was fighting a fish on a rough day on Halloween at Pyramid lake off of spider point and fell overboard. He was a good swimmer, and was not wearing a PFD. His...

    Boat trailer update

Bearings: I don't know much about them, I have bearing buddies on mine. The trailer shop owner that was going to tune up my trailer and found a bunch of things that would need attention asked me to not add any grease to the bearing buddies once they repack the bearings, and bring it back to them...

    Pyramid Lake

I've been tempted to try to make gravlox, any good recipes you are willing to share? I miss taking a Pacific King or two a year and having them portioned out by a little shop in Sausalito. Forget the name, but they did a good job. Always enjoyed cold vs hot smoked but to each their own.

    Boat trailer update

Russ, I'm thinking you are into this a bit too deep to consider buying a new trailer, but man you seem to have a lot of things to juggle. Wish you the best~

    Boat trailer update

Bloodweiser, I have had nothing but problems with my rollers. It's a Venture Trailer (Think as cheap as possible), and I believe not enough rollers for my 228 hull. At any rate I'm having a new bunk trailer built as a result. If you are loading in wind/waves and don't "nail it" perfectly, it...

    Questions Please

Hi Pighunter, I will comment on fuel tanks and fuel/vent lines. Figure anywhere from $2-3k for both tanks and lines if you are willing to do the work yourself. Bunch of members have done the replacements on various hulls at one point or another, including myself last summer. I used aluminum...

    Eisenglass bug removal

I have thick eisenglass, it does not bode well with folding down. Today I tried soaking, mild agitating with a microfiber towel. No luck on the bug remnants. They will be forever etched on my glass. They are okay for me to live with, since the eisenglass is above the lower windows and I'm not...
