    Pyramid Lake

Out today with my older son. No sea monsters were caught, but I had a heck of a time.

    Starboard, marine plywood or ?

Sure, Once you remove the existing bulkheads, use them both as templates to cut the new material. I used a jigsaw to cut out my new bulkheads. If you choose plywood you want to epoxy the edges to help mitigate water intrusion (Grady never did that which is why so many have issues). Place the...

228G Seafarer Advice on inside cushions along gunwales

https://www.affordableboatcushions.com/stock-bolster-cushions I'm going to purchase a set from this company and do partial bolsters on my 228. Their prices seem fair, and they will fabricate either smooth or ribbed for the same price. Since all my cushions are smooth, I will go that route.

    Seafarer 22 purchase

Dunno Biggun, I mounted 2 Cannon Digi-Trolls to work with on my 228, but if I wanted to use the front rod holders as locations for the second pair that would be a viable option IMHO. Front units could be permanently installed, or most down riggers have adapters to use existing rod holder bases...

    Seafarer 22 purchase

I don't think they sold too many with that inboard option is what I am guessing. As far as 6' ers, I asked my surveyor if he would be comfortable in true 4-6' seas and he said yes.

    Marine Speaker Covers

Drifter, they sound fantastic considering I am using the system playing Pandora via bluetooth on my cellphone. This new stereo was the best addition on my rig so far..... But I messed up the speaker description it seems, although we are talking about the same speakers. I installed JL Audio...

    1987 228 New VHF & Stereo

I think your 3/8" acrylic looks perfect, fills out recess nicely! I just ordered my panel from New Wire in brushed silver. I was having problems with the template size, so I spoke with Eric this morning. Glad I did, he steered me away from matte white as the panel color, which was my first...

    Cannon Digi-Troll 10 TS

Update: After 24 hours testing on multiple trips, the new system is doing its job! I haven't had any loss of bottom with the new transducer, and went over plenty of bait schools too, so I am a happy camper. For any fisherman that wants to troll on a relatively flat bottom and put the bait...

    Trailer Woes....Uncle!

I actually damaged the hull trying out loading with the front rollers totally out of the water. Problem is I launch at a pretty shallow grade, what seems to be the hangup is between the rear set of rollers and front. I am on the back set okay, and then power the engine to load onto the front...

    Seafarer trim

Dennis, I'm guessing John either means the rub rail or pinstripes ?? Either one can be purchased through a local Grady White dealer....

    Starboard, marine plywood or ?

I would be uncomfortable in anything less than 3/4" with either Starboard or plywood. I just used 1/2" Starboard for a updated gauge panel, it's a small piece and adequate for that installation. The bulkheads were designed for 3/4" material thickness. I ended up using plywood, epoxing edges...

    228 Seafarer chalky rubrail

Hey Zeebr00K, I just was/am in the process of reconditioning my hull, here were other's suggestions.... 1)Wipe it with a cloth soaked in acetone. Wipe any excess off right away. Works like magic! It will even remove or lighten up any dings. 2)For the Rub Rails, best cleaning agent I have...

    Trailer Woes....Uncle!

Thanks Ky, I couldn't pull the trigger before because it is a major expense and I already had committed to other things that were higher priorities, but now my hand is forced and it will like all things work its way through. Peace of mind hard to put a price tag on, and now I'll have the...
