    fuel indication?

A fuel sender is simply a resister, and power is not sent directly to it. To test a fuel sender it really has to be removed. Hook up a meter to it and set it to ohms. Now watch the resistance increase and decrease (gradually) as you raise and lower the float. If the resistance increases and...

well my plan is to build two shelves in the rear tank sump for my batteries and glass them in. Also I'm going to make my electrical panel on the rear wall of the rear tank sump. Mount my switches/charging relay, and main fuses etc. Plan is to cut a hatch out of the rear tank cover, glass it...

    24 Offshore Fwd Bilge Pump

On a few of the Grady's I've done for the front bilge, I put a 4 pole terminal board in the bottom of the starboard storage compartment. Low enough where the pump wires will reach without making any extensions. This keeps the connections out of the bilge away from corrosion/water, also easier...

So question, would I be better off putting my fuel tank in the front or rear compartment? I'm planning on putting in a 20-30 gallon holding tank and it would make more sense to have that in the front compartment since it will be closer to the head. Although I have plans of putting on a 250hp 2...

Started doing some glass work today. Pretty happy how it turned out considering it was my first time. Still have plenty of old holes to fill but these were the biggest ones. I guess the previous owner was more into music than fishing. Also tried my new Blue Point sander today and started...

New to me 85' 24' Offshore (Project)

Boats fully stripped, ready for sanding and glasswork. Decided to pass on the motor, I'm not ready to drop 3-4g on a motor thats most likely going to sit in the shop for a year. Rather have the cash available for other expenses. I'll start looking for a motor when the time comes. Tomorrow...

Found a guy selling a pair of 99 250hp yamaha ox66 that said he is willing to seperate the motors for someone local. Fortunately he's 10 minutes from me. He's asking 7500 for the pair everything included to repower gauges controls etc. They look to be in great shape. I'm not ready for a motor...

I've actually looked through your photobucket before, and I admire the amount of time, effort, and work you put into it. It really came out great and looks like a new boat. I'm hoping that I have enough patients to finish this project. I tend to get frustrated and lose interest in things...

    gas tank issues

I've been in this situation quite a few times. I've had good success using these methods. Using certain vice grips if you can get them to grab the heads of the bolts. Using reverse drill bits obviously being VERY careful and going slow. Usually this works and the bit eventually grabs the...

New to me 85' 24' Offshore (Project)

Pulled the cockpit windows and all thru hulls after work tonight. Still have to pull the cabin windows, rub rail, all hardware on the front of the boat, decals, and bow rail. Decided to commit to this boat 100%. Going to paint the whole top/inside and hull with awlgrip, redo all the non...

    Grady White Overnighter bulk head

I'd be able to make them if anyone is interested. I've done it on an overnighter, few seafarers, and now I'm deciding whether or not to do it on my 24' Offshore. Unfortunately I never made a template, I'd need the original bulk head I guess.

    Grady White Overnighter bulk head

I replace the bulkhead and all the teak trim with starboard on all the Grady's I've had. Just an idea if you're interested, its maintenance free and you never have to worry about it rotting out again.
