    Trailer adjustment

Cutting the bunks may not be an option depending on where the bunk brackets are mounted. I agree that the trailer may be too long for the hull especially if the load is balanced correctly and handles well on the road. I suppose I would not worry about it since there doesn't seem to be issues...

    Correct prop size

What speed did you get when you topped out revs? Speed number should come from GPS plotter. not the Yamaha speedo gauge Depending on the engine model and year, the lower unit gear rations might be different. The f200 has a 2.0 ratio but the F150 could be 2.0 or 1.86 depending on model year. I...

    CHART UPGRADE ???

One thing to be aware of is that if your plotter is several years old, it may run slow with a new map card. I have had this issue with Navionics maps and Lowrance plotters, specifically early HDS models.

    Trans Cracks

Some new photos with more resolution, not so close up and using the flask might help. It's hard to tell what we are looking at without some farther out pictures. The pictures are not very clear but based on what I can make out, your transom looks like it has serious issues. The seriousness of...

    Simrad NSS question

The funny thing is that my buddy did call Simrad support and they said they don't fix the units but have to send them out. To whom I don't know Innay case my buddy is calling Simrad support back. I will post any updates. Thanks

    Simrad NSS question

I have a buddy who has a Simrad NS EVO2 plotter with Navionics maps. The unit is maybe 5 or 6 years old. When the unit is powered up, it reverts to the out of the box configuration (initial config). If you redo your desired config, it works fine until you shut it off. When you turn it back on...

    gelcoat repair advice

The site has a lot of info but more importantly, when Andy makes a mistake and he does every now and then, he admits it and includes it in the video. The video was one of the more informative and enlightening was the one on matching gel coat color.

Negotiating new 2023 Freedom 235-need help

. One thing to remember is that is it Grady White Sales Days ( or something like that and deals can be had although the word 'deals' is a relative term). More importantly, the 2023 is technically a year old model since the 2024 model is available for sale. There is an incentive to clear out...

    Switch panel Q 97 248 Voyager

You say that the wire is brown but the feed from the dash was orange/black. I would expect the wires to be the same color.

    1996 272 Sailfish Drainage tubes

In general, the forward bilge should not drain into the tank coffin There may be a continuous drain tube that passes under the tank or there may be separate tube to one side of the tank stringer. Either tube cab get plugged up. It also can be easier to find the aft end of the tube and snake...

    Switch panel Q 97 248 Voyager

The factory wires on the unused ACC switches could be for options you don't have. Look at the colors of those wires. If they were itended for some 'standard' option, they would follow the color chart for wires. Common options you may not have are things like raw water washdown or perhaps fresh...

Led replacement lights that will fit into factory spot. Spreader and courtesy

Perhaps a picture or two would help especially with the courtesy fixtures. Maybe we also don't have to guess what model boat you have:)

    Locked brakes

I guess it would help if the OP explained if the breaks are locked going in reverse or always locked and can he or she tell if both sides of the axle are locked.

    Battery tender

There are some loads that are unswitched. Their drain is small but it's not zero. One example is a memory feed for a stereo ( to keep the memorized stations). Another possible load is an electronic water sensing bilge pump. I don't like the auto style since it checks every few minutes to see if...

    Locked brakes

If your surge actuator ( the brake cylinder with the hitch ball on it) is being held pushed back, the brakes will be applied. The brakes could also be 'frozen' to the rotors or drums due to corrosion). For the surge actuator, if the tow vehicle is attached, chock the trailer wheels and try...

    Fisherman 236 Drainage

Many of the hulls drain into the mid bilge. Depending on the angle of the hull, that water will immediately drain into the aft bilge or it will sit until either enough water accumulates to overcome the incline forward or on larger hulls, the mid bilge pump activates. On the really small hulls...

    1996 272 Sailfish running F 225’s

Yes that is correct, your concern is the scupper position My point was that moving 100 pounds forward may not have the same effect as removing 100 pounds aft. You can sort of test what might happen by putting having a person or two children that weighs about the same as the extra motor weight...

    1996 272 Sailfish running F 225’s

Moving the batteries forward will not necessarily reduce the weight on the transom by their weight. The position, forward and aft of the batteries relative to the center of floatation will determine how much of the apparent weight is shifted. Secondly, the overall weight of the boat will nor...
