    Limited Wiper Range

I replaced a wiper motor on a previous boat and had to widen the swing range. I don't remember the brand but I remember that I had to remove the cover on the gearbox and then it was obvious how to do it. There was a cam with several holes at different distances from the drive shaft. It was a...

Close the bow on a Tournament 192?

I understand that you like the boat and want to keep the performance and dependability you feel with that hull, but...... I think it would be a huge mistake to do what you are talking about, and you will eventually regret it. Just my $.02 Sell the boat as is and buy what you need. If you...

    1978 Hatteras 204-C Restoration

Now that's the way to repair a boat! I like your well thought out double gantry crane to separate the liner. Well done. I have wanted to do that on boats in the past but was afraid I would open a can of worms. My hat is off to you for having the gumption.

    Prop size

I would stay with an aluminum prop. Easier shifting, motor does not produce enough thrust to flex blades and much cheaper. As far as the correct spec for your next prop, you will base that off of the performance of the 13 1/4 X 17 on it now. With normal load and nicely trimmed, what was the WOT...

transom cap on a marlin 30

I sure wish Grady White had the guts to have one of their designing engineers put a post on here explaining their reasoning for keeping this archaic transom design for so long when other manufacturers have methods that allow for a sealed transom. It would be good reading. Especially if that...

    Overheating

Also Bob, if your engine has the hose connection on the cowl for static flushing, you can put a "Y" on your garden hose and put water to that fitting at the same time you put water to the muffs and it will usually make the engine pee while running. On my old engine it would not pee on the muffs...

Wanted, Trailer for GW 330 express.

Here is one that is advertised on my local craigslist. It's a little drive south for you but doable. I have not seen it. https://sarasota.craigslist.org/bpo/d/sarasota-ace-34-tri-axle-boat-trailer/7531771679.html

    Overheating

It sometimes can make a difference if you remove the screen on the intake of the leg before you put the muffs on.

    Southwest Florida Grady Owners

Your story breaks my heart. I'm so sorry to hear that you lost so much. I bought my first Grady from Fish Tale marina a few years ago. Nice outfit. No doubt they have had some catastrophic damage. Wishing the best for you and yours.

    Southwest Florida Grady Owners

Sorry to hear about your boat JMAT. That area around Fort Myers really got flattened. My son and his wife lived on Fort Myers Beach for 2 years and the two waterside restaurants where my daughter-in-law worked are gone. Not damaged but gone. The house they lived in is destroyed. Awful, awful for...

    Diesel furnace

We used that type of heater in our crew boats during the years I worked in Alaska. It seems like we used the Wallas brand but I'm not sure of that. Anyway ours used an automotive style sparkplug for flame ignition. When running on diesel that plug would get sooted up to the point the ignition...

    Pompanette Arm Rests

I really am not familiar with the seats on the Canyon, so I couldn't tell you if they will fit. The armrests are from a Seafarer with the "ladder back" style chair. You may be able to find out from Grady. Here is a measurement.

Deck drains / upgrade from the 2 piece white plastic

You need to make sure that the flange on that fitting will sit down inside the deck recess enough so it does not sit proud compared to the deck surface. Ideally, if it is slightly recessed it will drain better.

    The New Guy

I agree with your method. I have a short piece of 1/2 inch flexible garden Hose about 10 feet long, which I have cut the male fitting off of. I screw it on to my regular garden hose and push the cut end all the way into the holding tank and turn it on full blast. It boils out like crazy and at...
