    226 owners help

Yep. In tight chop in 2-3 footers, I always have water on the windshield . I’ve owned 5 boats so trimming is not the issue. I’ve tried bow down and plowing and tabs all the way up with the motor trimmed. Neither gets me satisfactory results. Strangest damn thing

    226 owners help

Seasick and summertop, this all starter due to this being the wettest boat I’ve ever owned. As far as weight distribution, the cuddy is completely free of any gear ( accept for seat cushions), No water tank storage and a half tank of gas while at rest in the slip. Now I do have only a 200 hp...

    226 owners help

Yikes summertop, that’s by lower than mine. I also have bow pulpit ( about 25 lbs). With 200’ of rope and 20’ of chain. All of that doesnt equate to 4.25 inches different as compared to Hutchy. Oh well Grady can’t explain it. How can we?

    Stabilizer with every fill up

Ring free on every fill. Stabilizer is used based upon usage. In the spring and fall when I go through a full tank every week, no stabilizer. In the summer when I only fill once per month I do add the stabilizer.

Greyduk, yours looks more like mine. I’d be very curious if you could do an actual measurement from bottom of the rubrail to the water.

    226 owners help

Hutchy, that’s exactly what I’m looking for. Mine measures at 35 “. Grady white customer service says I’m fine. Thank you. If you other guys can do an actual measurement, I really would appreciate it. All of my scuppers drain perfectly, and all are above the waterline by an inch. Do you think...

    226 owners help

Guys I have a 2001 226. It seems to sit low at the bow. Could you guys measure while your boat is at rest in the slip the distance from bottom of the rub rail to the water. Appreciate your feedback

    How to minimize water intrusion.

Hey guys , as for cleaning the silicone up, Sparkdog and I use the same concept. I use aerosol window cleaner. After you run the bead, spray the whole beaded area with the aerosol windex then wipe. The silicone will not stick to the treated surface. The finished product is amazing. I learned...

Thinking about air ride seats for my 228

I wish I could get 25-30 in 2-3 ft seas. 2-3 in the ocean is way different than 2-3 in a tight bay chop. I take water over the bow all the time in. 2-3 tight chop.

On the water impressions of my 228

Seasick is dead on. Running with mugs on a hose can definitely set off the alarm. Pull the boat to a ramp and back it in. Or even find a large drum to run it in. You maybe wasting time and money.

    Calling 226 owner. Handling conditions

I do have the full canvas so I don’t actually get wet. I too am looking for that sweet spot.

    Calling 226 owner. Handling conditions

I live in Toms River and know the Barnegat Bays chop very well. Especially it’s notorious south wind chop. Raritan Bay runs on average from 10 to 25’ depths with the exception of the channels. I usually run with the tabs all the way up controlling the trim with the motor. But, the tight chop...

    Calling 226 owner. Handling conditions

My current 226 is the first walk around I’ve ever owned. I am having a hard time figuring out trimming the boat to not allow water over the bow in a two to three foot tight chop with short dwell times such as occurs in Raritan bay. The boat handles great even in 3 to 4 foot seas in the ocean...

Any ideas on how to refinish teak cabin doors

Those are going to look spectacular. Good luck. I hope you are using the sickens Cetol. I’ve done that twice prior and the results are amazing and will last longer way longer than teak oil.
