228 - making it water tight?

228 - making it water tight?

I suggest you study the manual for your motor and pay special attention to the warnings. You will do damage to your motor if you run it with batteries off.

    Aluminum tank install

Neoprene is a good material to use. No carbon in neoprene. I would make sure their were no voids or crevices between neoprene/5200 and tank. The idea is to make sure tank is off deck to allow air to circulate and assure aluminum is not ever sitting in water.

    My 228 arrived

The newer MFD’s (Simrad NSS and Lowrance HDS 3) have the Chirp and additional Ethernet ports built into them not requiring the Sonarhub or the like. However, once you start adding equipment to the network, there’s never enough Ethernet ports and you’ll need a hub of some kind. Simrad does use...

You need something like a sonar hub. This is what I run. It also has numerous Ethernet hookups. You can run both a chirp transducer and a structure scan transducer. Old picture. Cleaned up since. See Lowrance Sonar Hub. Also the R110 radar interface box.
