    Drifting Speed Concern

I built a drift sock with supplies from an army/navy store including a12’ parachute. Allowed me to mooch for Salmon and stay in the bait ball for extended periods. An added plus is being able to use a 1-2oz weight with lines up and down. Other boats fishing with me fly by me, fishing 5-6oz...

Boat Outfitters and Teak Isle are pretty much the same company. Fantastic service and quality products in my experiences.

    Calling 226 owner. Handling conditions

Ya, the striper is dreadful in chop. Add the wind off the Pacific and trim tab is a must just to level boat. I will say, I don’t see any boats having a good time with beam or quartering seas in the bay when the winds pick up.

Fuel sender unit for aux tank

Separate senders for each tank. Should be able to pop deckplate to inspect and check voltages. Switch should be an on-on and routes sender current to gauge.

    Calling 226 owner. Handling conditions

Can be wet if no full canvas and the wind is blowing just right. I get a bit of a bath on San Francisco Bay running south to north in the afternoon in 3’ chop. Still looking for the sweet spot myself. Still nothing compared to my buddies 21’ Striper.

    My 228 arrived

Mel, Lake Sonoma is a perfect place for a shakedown run. I like the idea of checking lower unit for water if not already done. Grease bearings on trailer. Good luck!

    Bait Table / Fillet Table

I replaced the Perko 0559DP Door Catches and it takes considerable force to flip the dam down. No worry of it falling down on accident. I do not use the Scotty rod holders mounted on board for trolling. I do use them for drifting and anchored bait fishing.

    Need to Troubleshoot Front Bilge

The same manual you found the diagram posted has a table of devices, amp rating and wire colors. This will identify which fuse is for front and which is stern pump.

    Bait Table / Fillet Table

Wow, I like that allot. Dad did a great job. I may be copying that design. Do you recall if Their were any issues with stability? It looks like the only attachment points are at the handrails for the transom seats. Wondering if it would move around under way in rougher seas. Sits higher...

    Okay, need a shakedown list

Russ, I enjoy your posts. I enjoy your excitement. Don’t get offended by someone’s comment. I’m sure nothing was meant by it. We just want you to get that boat in the water so you can enjoy the other part of boat ownership.

    Chasing down an electrical issue

Russ, if you have a bad bilge pump and voltage dropped to 7V when you turned it on and the fuse to that pump did not blow, either the fuse rating for that circuit is incorrect or it is not in the circuit. May want to confirm that along with the replacement of pump.

    Help with help ( suggestion)

I think a basic description of the actual thread subject in the title will not only attract those that may have a posititive contribution, but would help others with similar issues find the thread in the future rather than creating a new thread or looking to another forum for solution. I also...
