flat bolts used to connect hinge to plexiglass

Wait, are you looking for the NUT (not the bolt)? I just saw Half's response and it made me think you might be using the wrong terminology? That makes more sense now - I was confused by the rest of what you said as it wasn't matching up.

flat bolts used to connect hinge to plexiglass

I'm not familiar with that, other than looking at your picture... however, it looks like there's a bolt in the center of the disc-thing... that appears to be a regular bolt that was then cut flush?

    Spirit 175??

If everything is in passable shape, that sounds like a fair price. NADA is essentially unreliable on older boats and, especially, less common boats - meaning, only a small number of those 1991/1992/1993 models sold recently. NADA is based on "reported" sales/registrations of the used boats in...

Possible rotted tank or rotted fill hose.

The only way to know is to check it out or ask the owner of the boat to find out the history of the tank. Nothing wrong with an on deck gas tank. Millions of boats are running around that way. As long as it's tied down properly you're good. There's posts above (and plenty that you can...

    Bomar Hatch on 265 Express...

Very common - easy to source locally. But forget about the foam seal - either bed it with something like LifeSeal or, even better, butyl rubber tape.

2003 Marlin 300 transom handle replacement. How do I get in there?

You may want to just cut a hole for a pie plate on the vertical section, in the middle of the two ends of the handle. Easy and quick - no issues with structural integrity, either.

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

3/16"? Nice. Hearing that, I don't think I would worry about the sound mat. The 1/8" panels aren't large enough to warrant the mat. The electronics box might get some odd sounds coming from it and you could always add the mat on the inside later, if you find it's needed. But your guy that's...

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

Careful... we may start spending more of your money! What are your thoughts for mounting point reinforcement (backer plates) for hardtop items like the 360* anchor light, antennas, possible radar, etc)? Is more aluminum blocking being welded in... or maybe just use HDPE as the backer plate as...

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

It's easy - the stuff is self-adhesive and can be painted. It's certainly not "needed" - just a thought to pass along :)

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

And leave a pull string in there that's three times as long as the length of the chase. But, hey, we're starting to do that armchair quarterback thing :) All of these things are probably already thought of by Lucky and the builder - it looks like the guy has done this before ;)

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

Yes - and make it bigger than you think you need!

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

Lookin' REALLY nice. I'm jealous! A thought... are you guys doing anything to help deaden the sound on larger, flat aluminum spots? Do you think it's needed? Like maybe the stuff that is put on the inside of car door panels? It really does make a noticeable difference - and it doesn't have...

    Tilt/trim

If it keeps stopping at exactly the same point as you trim up using the handle button, look at the wiring in the engine and/or rigging tube. If it stops at various "half way points", then it could be there or anywhere else along the way in the wiring... but it would be strange to be somewhere...

Pulling the trigger on a pilot house on the 228

Using the excavator is cheating... you're supposed to use a buddy to help lift it off by hand and during the struggle bang and chip things along the way! :) Roof line... I think that roof line looks GREAT just the way it is! In fact, I don't think it would look quite as good if it was 7" lower.

Hairline cracks in 2020 228 hardtop?

It would be enough of a concern for me to at least check them out better - and I would definitely get your dealer involved.

Cabin port gaskets (both sides) on Gulfstream

'Yer welcome! More pressure... you're not adjusting the hinges... you're tightening (just a little bit) the dogs.

Cabin port gaskets (both sides) on Gulfstream

I would go right to the source and contact Pompanette directly. They can tell you if a replacement gasket is still available and give a part number. Maybe you can even buy it directly from them? Go to their website and look at the various portlights - or go right to their contact us page...

Rhodan on 88 Trophy Pro - Cool Upgrade 2

Wow, that's some impressive battery life - especially what you said about the minimal draw during the spot lock. I would have thought that that would have drawn the battery down much more. Nice!

I don't have your boat... but you may want to specify if you're looking at getting a boat with a hardtop or a bimini top.
