    Thank you Brian - GW204!!!

Yep, you need more diameter. Look into Merc Mirage Plus wheels. I put them (15-1/4 x 19) on my old Sailfish and if I remember correctly could hold plan right around 20 mph. Glad to hear your moving in the right direction. It's amazing how much different a boat can be when it's set up...

From what I can seen of mine, it looks like they coated it with dirt.

Best thing to paint fuel tank with?

When the time comes to put new tanks in my boats, they will first get chemically etched and then will be painted with 2 or 3 layers of Interprotect.

Guys on the ClassicMako say they have good success with jamming a 2x4 in between the tank and stringers and prying on it in an attempt to shift the tank sideways and break the foam bond that way. If prying doesn't work, stick two pieces of 1x4 in the gap and then hammer a wedge in between...

Yep, a few... Does it have tabs on the top of the tank to bolt to the stringers? If so, wedge a 2x4 in between them. Then lay some 4x4s across the gunwales, put a floor jack on top of them and run a chain around the tabs. Give a few cranks on the jack and let it sit. Then come back and do...

Thanks! Looks like the change from the goofy sliding hatch to a tilting (and sealing) one will be pretty easy. :)

NEM, can you post a pic of your front deck looking at the hatch?

Interesting. Expanding the cabin opening is definitely on my list of things to do. It sucks trying to get in and out of there. I see you also have a real hatch up on the forward deck. I only have some stupid piece of white plexiglass or something that slides forward. That also needs to...

From what I have read, I think this is the hull the pretty much started the DV revolution and if I'm not mistaken was the inspiration behind the design of the Bertram 31. It's been copied a bunch of time by many different manufacturers. Albemarle being one of them... It will be a lot of...

Been there, done that. It works fine. The only thing I noticed was it was slightly harder to turn one direction than the other.

265Express owners - prop tweaking for better MPG's

Buy your props on Ebay and if they aren't right, sell 'em on THT. You can actually make money... I've done it twice. :)

My original plan was to spend the next year or two paying off bills and working on my Mako 17 and then find a nice Mako 228 to pick up. Well, that didn't really work out as planned... Since selling my Sailfish in January, I have been itching to get back on the water. Yes, it's nice to just...

What happened to East Coast Trailers?

Does he still deal with Hi-Tech and Owens and Sons? I dont' have any experience with Owens, but the Hi-Tech I put under my Sailfish was a much better trailer than the "top of the line" Loadmaster I had before it. Heck, I think the quality of the '76 EZ-Loader that's under my 23' Formula was...

    Issues with new-to-me 93 Gulfstream

Every bracketed Grady I have put my eyes on had the motors too low. On my old 252G, I was able to raise the engines 2 notches. It also sounds to me like your problem isn't with getting the bow down, but getting the stern up. Had the same problem in the 252G. A nice pair of Mercury Mirage...

Spring startup problems Yamaha 250/24' Offshore

There will either be a squeeze ball in the fuel supply line to the engine or you will have an electric primer w/ switch on the dash. You do have the safety lanyard plugged in, right? :)

    Where's the sending unit on 1980 204F?

Interesting... I would go ahead and pull the access panel, fix the sending unit and reposition the tank so it's in the right spot. If it's original tank, replace it while you have the panel up. A 65 gallon tank (I think that's what it is) should run you around $650 + shipping and you...
