HELP: Thru hulls on port side ice boxes 1988 Offshore

I had the same issue on a 2000 228 and wanted to replace that Y/ T valve/ connector but sealing it seemed to stop the leak. Taking it off and removing those hoses seemed to be near impossible Anyways, a few folks have done it on here. If you don’t get any responses, take a look at this thread...

    EPIRB's

Looking to buy one of the EPIRB kits, but see most come with Cat 2 rather than Cat 1 EPIRB. I thought the 1s are better but BOE Marine has an article stating the contrary... “We recommend that a boat has a Cat II EPIRB before getting a backup Cat I EPIRB. In case of fire it is likely the Cat I...

    Battery 1, 2 or Both?

If your engine has an Aux charging cable, you do not need the kit just the battery switch. https://www.bluesea.com/products/5511e/e-Series_Dual_Circuit_Plus_Battery_Switch

    Battery 1, 2 or Both?

Definitely check to see if an aux cable was installed already. I had no clue until I unscrewed the switch and saw the extra cable in there. No expert here, but I think you can check by having your switch on battery 1 and then measure battery 2 to see how many volts. At idle, mine was around...

    232 Electrical issue

Didn’t notice this before, but where do those two cut wires come from/ go to in your original post ( That does not look like factory to leave exposed and opened like that

    232 Electrical issue

I wouldn’t remove them all, as it will be a pain to put back. Just get a multimeter and test the switches out. Also, make sure the panel wiring matches the owners manual. Not sure if Skunk said in this thread or another but you are probably dealing with a PO’s mistake.

    232 Electrical issue

Honestly, those connectors you pulled off look really good compared to mine. Looks like someone might have replaced already. For the experts... If everything is fine until he closes a circuit , does that mean that the ground is disconnected somewhere or shorting out? Seems like something is...

    Livewell drain fitting

You can definitely do it as a one person job but more efficient with two so you don’t have to keep getting up I asked KY Grady the same exact question about the valve and if it was truly needed. I ended up reinstalling it because GW put it there for a reason who am I to questio. It’s function...

    Livewell drain fitting

As another option, you can attach both hoses to the livewell if you place the valve similarly to how I did. Just don’t tighten until you are happy with everything

    Livewell drain fitting

I just did this in December and you need to put it back together in reverse order you took it apart.... So to remove, I disconnected the intake hose from the livewell and the drain hose from the scupper. Assume you did the same. Then to put back together, I ended up attaching the intake...

    EPIRB's

Understood - Not so concerned about the price as no matter what route I go, it will be in the 500-800 or so range. I’ve only focused on ACR but I don’t think any of their products include AIS. So is an EPIRB w/ AIS the better way to go?

    EPIRB's

Was just looking at the same when I came across that EPIRB with AIS. Wasn’t surewhich route was better.
