    Repower

I have 200's on mine and love them. I wouldn't go with any less than twin 150's. If the E-tec's produce close to that they may be OK. I have no experience with them.

    New to board

mboyatt; I had heard somewhere that exceeding the cap. plate for HP would make the owner liable for problems resulting from the overpower. If the age of his Gulfstream exempts him from that, then 225's are the way to go. I wish I had 'em on mine. Insurance might be another story but it never...

    Sad Day

Fish; Do you always pull in mid-Oct. or will you push it a little if you have an unusually warm fall?

    New to board

Two Comments; 1.) I always thought 225's were the perfect power for the Gulfstream. I have twin 200 4-strokes and love mine. (The EFI's are 2-stroke, right?) They would be lighter than the 4-stroke 225's, so a good match. Unfortunately, I think the Gulfstream is rated for 400 HP max. I would not...

    Maximum Bridge Clearance While Trailering

Hi ROBERTH; Similar problems here..I'm 12' 6" with my 232 and I have had to be wary and execute spur-of-the-moment escape maneuvers to get around low branches all over. The only time your really safe is on the Interstate. There are enough trees..Why do they have to hang over the hiway??

Anyone with a new boat rusting?

Same thing on my 2007 232. Small pocket of rust under my swim ladder. I would wash it after every trip, but I folded it back up afterword and the rust formed underneath it on my swim platform.

    Leszekgorski Question.

Leszekgorski; I agree..We never lose touch with the keys. My goal, living in Fla. now is to run my Grady down there in the summer when the winds are light and the water warm. Up 'till now, we've always gone in Jan. Before I retired from my music career, that was the only time that made sense to...

    Sold the boat :(

Aren't the Sundancers express cruiser boats? The ones I've seen are not fishing platforms.

    Leszekgorski Question.

We go on our own. I run my Grady out there when Hawks Channel isn't too rough. We just tie off to a bouy and snorkel. I haven't cruised Big Pine. We come down from the Marathon area and angle out to Looe once we pass Bahia Honda.

    Leszekgorski Question.

Hey; I didn't want to ask this on your side window topic; reading you were a seasoned diver in the Keys, I am curious... Looe is one of my favorite spots to snorkel when we vacation down there. I have seen more than a few barracudas, too many man-o-war and various jellyfish, but no sharks. Have...

    Maximum Bridge Clearance While Trailering

I trailered the same areas you speak of for years. I'm pretty sure 13' 6'' is the max height you can go. Anything higher is illegal without permits and you have the issues of low hanging tree branches, canopies in quick marts, etc.

What does everyone do for a living?

Rock-N-Roll Drummer; 30 years in the Biz. I'm nobody's rockstar, but had lots of fun and made a marginal living. Now retired and messing with my Gulfstream.

    Trailer or Marina?

Agree with all the above comments. My only change would be to consider the marina in-out services in reverse. Keep the boat wet slipped and have it hauled when it's time for maintenance. This way, you have very little diesel soot on it due to the infrequency of the haulouts and you don't have to...

    Interesting Grady

He's a nice guy. We took a trip with him to Shark River in the Everglades last Feb. with our Grady Club. I didn't talk with him a whole lot, but he seems to prefer "get away from it all" type cruises. He has everything he needs for staying out at anchor. I much prefer the amenities of marina...

    In the market.....help making decision

Keep in mind he wants to trailer the boat. When you get into the 26' and above crowd, it becomes cumbersome to jerk the thing around on a trailer, plus you need a hefty tow vehicle. I just checked on the spec's of the Journey 258 and it's an 8' 6" beam, so it's legal to tow without special...

    In the market.....help making decision

I own a Gulfstream and am really happy with it. It is not your ideal boat for 2 reasons. 1.) It is 9' 3" wide and to be legal, you'll need towing permits. it's also heavy; mine is 10,100 lbs, trailer included. 2.) I don't think it will give you the ride you need for offshore duty in the...

    New Yamaha 200 vs E-tech 200

I am a believer in Yamaha. Are they trouble-free, no, but they are extremely dependable and have a huge dealer support network. I would choose a Yamaha without thinking twice. Like SoutheastFl says, there's a reason why major boat companies feature Yamaha exclusively.

    DeHumidifier

ROBERTH; I have an "Evaflow" portable that I use in my 232 cabin. Plugs in to my electrical outlet on my finger pier with an extension cord and I just let it run 24/7. Every 2-3 days I roll back my mooring cover, get into the cabin and empty it. It has a clear tube that the water runs out of...

    F150 vs F200 vs F225 Performance Stats

Or, just go to the Grady White website. I just did and went to "Find A Boat." From there you can select a particular boat. Click on that and you then see where to select Performance Stats. I just went to the 232 Gulfstream, (my boat) and it shows the numbers with both twin 150's and twin 200's.
