    yamaha F225 on overnighter..too much??

I can't comment on the stern weight issue, but I can tell you that my scuppers on my 232 Gulfstream are submerged with the weight of my twin 200 4-strokes. It doesn't matter.. My boat drains fine anyway. I guess if yours are further submerged than mine it might be a topic to consider, but from...

    Trailer sway on Sailfish 25

Good point; I hadn't figured that the older Sailfish models might not have a 500 HP rating. You'll certainly have hole shots and the capability to outrun storms! Clockwork; Now..Before I get slapped for hijacking the topic here, I will also add that it may be time and money well spent to have a...

    Trailer sway on Sailfish 25

While your checking the tongue weight and your balance points, make sure the axles are lined up straight with each other. My Gulfstream 232 and trailer swayed a bit also until a competent guy put a straightedge to my tires and found one further out than the other. He made sure they were...

Are twin 200 hpdi's okay on a 01 grady white sailfish

Sounds underpowered to me, but I have no experience or numbers to back it up. I have read on here that the 200 HDPI's were Yamahas best. Like you, I love my 4-strokes, but if I were to go 2 stroke, the HDPI's would be my choice.

Read this if you have at least 100 posts:)

I read posts that I understand. I am not mechanically or technically versed. Posts concerning rebuilding transoms or troubleshooting engines or electronics I pass by because I can't understand them. My enjoyment comes from engine options, performance stats, fuel burn, pro's and con's of...

    33 Express Performance

I have 3 friends that have the 250's on their 33's. I have ridden in two of them and both yield cruise speeds around 30-31MPH with revs to 4800 or so to maintain it. Burn is roughly 1.2-1.3 in calm conditions. I have not been in rough seas with them, but one says it goes to a little below 1.0...

    Is this enough trailer?

When it comes to boat trailers bigger is always better. I learned that lesson the hard way. I do agree that if it's primarily short trips, you'd probably get by.

    330 Express Performance

Seasick; All of my buddies boats get roughly 30MPH at 4700.

    330 Express Performance

Seasick; I think he's asking if he should be worried about spinning the mils up in that high RPM range all the time; will it prematurely wear the engines out? I have 3 friends in my Grady group that have the exact same boat and powerplants. They run similar fuel burn numbers to yours and rev...

worth repowering? Single to twins on 258...

Is this a Journey 258 or an Islander? I thought the Islander was a 260-something. Anyway, if it is a Journey that you own, I have a good friend out of Englewood, Fla. that has twin 150's on his and loves it. he and his wife go 25-50 miles out to deep water and the accompanying Grouper that live...

    The Saga of the Trailer

Believe me, I feel for you. Over the years I have had, I think, more than my share of trailer problems, mostly my fault. I allowed in two cases, for them to under-equip the trailer, resulting in many problems. Buying a new one is kinda painful, but as much trailering as you do, it's ultimately...
