Trailer for 2013 GW 208 - Any recommedations?

Another thing to add to Dennis's thoughts.. Don't let a dealer sell you an under equipped trailer. Overbuild it, especially if your using it for distance travel, as you mentioned.

Great info! I was hoping GaryM would jump in here.

    bahama run questions

Jumping in briefly here with a question I've asked before, but the more opinions, the better. If we go to the Bahamas someday, I want to be able to anchor, wade ashore, snorkel, and swim. Are there restrictions that prevent that, as there are in the Tortugas?

    2007 226 Before & After Pics

very cool. I had a Seafarer for 10 years before I bought my 232 from Al. You'll love it. Lake MI may take awhile to warm back up this summer with the severe winter up there. Keep a couple extra sweatshirts in the cabin and have a great summer!

    2007 226 Before & After Pics

Bought my 232 from Al at Twin Cities. great people and a great buying experience. Where are the dockside shots at? Doesn't look like Manitowoc..

    Battery Tenders

In my case with my 232 Gulfstream, they are way more trouble to remove than I want to take on. I have a "Guest" charger with the AC outlet. I like the others, run the charger all winter and since I live South now, run it on the lift whenever my boat is not in use. My batteries are original,(7...

Can a hard top be made that folds down?

Hi Zimm; Still enjoying the Seafarer? You guys may or may not have seen the pics of that boat when he bought it. Unbelieveably clean! Very few look that good. Anyway, it seems to me like the best route is to have a normal, factory-like hardtop professionally installed that is permanent and...

TOWING 208 Adventure from Greenville to Detroit

Congrats on your boat and a successful trip. I would guess your sidewall failure on the trailer tires were due to not only the roads but the possibility your trailer dealer didn't equip it with a heavy-duty tire. I can't count the number of trailers that were undersized for the boats they were...

    Three months with my Marlin

Glad to hear your experience is satisfying so far. The Marlin would be my next one if I ever decide to upgrade. I'm curious why you don't run down to the Keys by water? You could be at Marco in a day from Tampa, given calm conditions allowing you to run outside. I have a 232 Gulfstream and...

    What's GW's best seller?

Smoky.. Makes sense..I would hope the scenario you describe continues for years to come. I don't understand the demands and realities of construction, financing, running a business and marketing. It seems like everytime I find something I like, whether it be a boat, car, or for that matter...

    What's GW's best seller?

Meg; Do you think they'll discontinue models like the Marlin/Seafarer/Gulfstream and other cabin models if the demand for dual consoles increases? Something may have to get squeezed out to make room for the new age boats.(I hope not...)

Looking at buying 97' 232 gulfstream. Advice??

I own a Gulfstream and was close to replying to you yesterday. The reason I didn't is that your question is out of my area of expertise,(which includes most things anyway..) I can say that a 97 should probably have a survey by a qualified pro. I would also have the Oceanpro checked...

    Fuel Level Question...

Thanks Grady33; Thanks goodness it's easy to get non-ethanol here in Fla. Most, if not all of the marinas we've been to have it.

    Fuel Level Question...

Yeah, I was talking about the marina price. it varies along the West Coast here from a little over $5.00 to $4.50 or so.

    Fuel Level Question...

wrxhoon; It isn't pretty here, either. When I filled up as mentioned, it cost me $618.00 and I have the Gulfstream. Price was around $5.10, I think. I put in a little over 121 gallons. I'd love to have $3.50/gal gas here. Now if I would've said that 30 years ago I would have been put away. Funny...

    Spring?

Fish; I am in Fla. nowadays, but I well remember the anticipation and jazzed feeling I would get when it was time to prep the boat for the season. There is something timeless and special about that 1st splash and resulting ride.(assuming everything works..) You just never get tired of taking...

    Fuel Level Question...

Thanks wrxhoon.. Appreciate the reply. I have since filled the tank and, as yourself and the others have said, I've had no problems. I just got a little nervous as I rarely, if ever leave the tank that low for more than a day or two. The predictable dent in my bank account occurred when i...

Gulf Stream 232 hull changes in 2006

I just re-read your reply and saw that pre-owned 200 combos are rare. There is no reason you should narrow your search just for the 200's when the 150's would work fine. I just wanted to throw in my .02 on the weight debate.

Gulf Stream 232 hull changes in 2006

I have 06 200's and they're great too. I have read many posted concerns about too much weight with the 200's on a 232. 1.) I have them and weight is not a problem. The scuppers sit about 1/2 way submerged. It doesn't matter. they have drained the deck perfectly for the 7 years I've owned the...
