Gulf Stream 232 hull changes in 2006

Definetly twin 200's is the way to go.

    Seafarer vs. Gulfstream

I have owned both. Here are my observations. 1.) Ride The Gulfstream rides waay better. It is bigger, heavier, wider and while I'm no hull design expert, it translates into a far superior ride than the Seafarer. 2.)Fuel Burn; For obvious reasons, the Gulfstream will burn more fuel. I had a...

Did anyone catch the new type of boat

I would think it's due to the ever-changing trends. I was in the Keys for our January vacation and stopped by Caribee Boat Sales (GW dealer) there in Islamorada. I was looking around, and saw no cabin boats. A sales guy told me they basically stock CC's and sell little if any cabin boats. We...

    Fuel Level Question...

Thanks Dennis/mboyatt; I appreciate the replies. I thought it would be OK, but feedback from experienced owners on here helps the peace of mind.

    Fuel Level Question...

    Thanks Parth; Much appreciated.

    Fuel Level Question...

pay2play; I use only non-ethanol fuel. I use no stabil or fuel additive as I burn thru enough fuel to rotate it fairly regularly. This is unusual and I want to make sure there is no potential for problems in leaving the tank low for a couple weeks. Again, the question may be silly, but it's...

    Fuel Level Question...

Oh, and I'm in Fla. so freezing cold is not a factor (unless you consider the 60's cold..Some of us here do..)

    Fuel Level Question...

This may qualify as a stupid question, but it's bugging me a bit nonetheless I am down to 2 bars on my gauge and have approx 34 gallons left. (I normally keep my tank full with non-ethanol fuel.) Is it OK to leave the tank at this low level for a couple weeks until I can make time to fuel it...

    Grady White Purchase

jlindsley; I have a 232 Gulfstream and it is a marvelous rig. We overnite in it..It's not the Mariott but we enjoy the "camping" type experience when we want a weekend on the water. I have twin 200 4-strokes and I think it's the best power combo. 1.9-2.1 MPG at 3700-3900 RPM. This is between...

    New Gulfstream 232

Make sure your trailer has at least 5000 pound axles. My 232 with twin 200 four strokes weighs 10,100 lbs with trailer. Yours will be heavier than you think once fully loaded with fuel, anchors, gear, etc. Dealers try to sell a marginally equipped trailer with the package to price it...

    1967 Ferrari 275 GTB N.A.R.T. & Eddie Smith

Is Eddie Jr. or Sr. the CEO of Grady-White? I read awhile back his health wasn't great. Anyone know how he's doing nowadays? Here's hoping he's enjoying life. he certainly worked hard with GW it seems.

What do you like and dislike about your Grady?

LIkes; 1.) Customer service. 2.)The "look" of the boat and the big-water vibe it gives off. 3.) Well-built. Dislikes 1.) Leaky cabins. I've had a Seafarer and a Gulfstream, both cabins leaked..Unacceptable for what you pay for new Gradys. 2.) The plastic arms used to open the Port & Starboard...

    intro and 228 vs 232 vs 258

My 232 has twin 200 4-strokes. I get 1.9-2.1 cruising at 3700-3900 RPM at 30-32 MPH. 1.7-1.9 in rough seas using tabs and down trim.

    intro and 228 vs 232 vs 258

I have a 232 and have ridden on a friend's 258 Journey. I think the Journey rides a little better than my 232 because of the narrower beam. I love my Gulfstream, though.

Opinion on 305 vs 330 Purchase?

Jim; Just got back in town.. No bottom paint; It just occurred to me that I have another friend,(we are all in the same Grady club) that has the same 330/twin 250's setup that gets roughly the same numbers. I'm pretty sure both have factory prop setups, but I'll ask. It's encouraging that you...

Opinion on 305 vs 330 Purchase?

alfa1023; Interesting that you get better performance on yours. I suppose there is variation with all boat/engine combo's, and I'm not sure of my friends prop setup. I am no Yamaha tech; if the engines are not overworked, then that's reliable news. My 232 runs 30-31 MPH at 3800-3900. I rarely...

Opinion on 305 vs 330 Purchase?

Correction.. My friends 305 has the 250's also. His cruising numbers are 1.5 MPG (roughly) and 4300-4500 at 30 MPH or so. Another note while I'm typing this..The height estimate on the 330 when we towed it was around 14 ft. Take off the radar dome, GPS antenna and maybe it comes down to 13' 5"...

Opinion on 305 vs 330 Purchase?

I do not own either, but have friends with both. Two Points.. 1.) I have towed my friends 330 for a short distance and it is not advised. The rig with trailer weighs around 16K with full fuel. It exceeds both the height and width restrictions for towing. A full ton dual wheel diesel is a must...

Your welcome. Enjoy the boat. It's the biggest 23' out there.

What can a gulf stream take

This is too subjective a question to answer. As mentioned several times above, different people have different comfort and tolerance levels. In my opinion, here are the important points to be made. 1.) The Skill Of The Operator. I know captains whom I would go out with in 8 footers. I also know...
