The full synthetic Penn is about $25 a gallon. I think the Merc oil is a blend.

I am swapping to the full synthetic pennzoil after rading some threads on it. I will let you know what I find out.

I have a leak around my transducer (mounted on the transducer flat). Any ideas on how to repair (what epoxy, etc.). If anyone has done this before I would certainly appreciate the help.

I am interested to hear what you find out about gas mileage. I have always been told the HPDIs get better mileage at cruise than a 4 stroke, but am curious as to how much.

As an added maintenance step, I flush with Salt Away using an inline adapter. It may be over kill, but it gives me piece of mind.

The dash layout of your 282 looks the same as my 272. Does anyone know if the dash electronics box has the same dimensions? I am lookingat possible removing the door and flush mounting some units in a similiar fashion. Thanks!

If I could swing the cash difference I would go 4 stroke. The 3.1L Yamahas are a gamble. The 2.6L (200 & 150) are rock solid. I have heard horror storries, but a coworker of mine has a 250 with zero problems. Just depends on how "lucky" you feel.

I just purchased a trailer for my Sailfish from Hi-tech in Panama City. I went with the heavy tandem and 4 wheel Kodiaks. I would buy it again.

It is past the gelcoat. I just would like to seal it until about October then put it in the shop if possible, otherwise I am porbably done for the season. :(

It is not into the core (thankfully). I have a couple other glass issues with the boat, so I am going to try and get a quote on repair. Last time I sent a boat to a shop there was a 3 month wait. Does anyone know of a way I can temporarily "seal" it until the fall? I hate to miss out on the rest...
