    Cold Affecting Members?

Hey you guys, we got none of that over here on the east coast. Been in the low 90s!. Next time, send some our way. I'm sure I have a long sleeve shirt around here somewhere... Rob

What a great forum with great people

Bob. You and your wife must be great parents. You sure haven’t let life's challenges slow down your family adventures together. That Grady 22 has travelled far and wide. I think your kids are more blessed than many. Rob

Resolved - Newbie Questions on a 282 Sailfish

Mindskew: Thanks for your help. I should have re-worded the title to say "issue resolved". A few posts up I described what had happened. All the 110 outlets worked fine for me. Turns out, my wife was trying to run something fairly large off of an inverter. So I presume that, when you put too...

    Grady Voyager vs Journey

Gern: I owned a 2005 258 for 14 years. I loved that boat. But in a closely-spaced, 2' chop, I would have to use a lot of trim tab to push the bow down to keep from pounding. The boat did not like to take waves beyond about where I was standing. But with the tabs, I would get a good ride in a...

    Bimini to Hard Top ?

In later years Grady did add this 'rigid' top option to the 225. I only recall this because I thought it was such a good idea to have good sun coverage, a mounting place for antennas, outriggers, etc. and no front legs to hinder fishing or forward vision. I cut this image from a 2011 Grady...

Anyone know the story behind this boat?

That is one clean looking Islander. But I don't know anything about it. Hope everything else checks out equally well if you go look at it.

    Best boat you never owned?

1995 208 Adventure. Raised our daughter on that boat. Took that boat as far as Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas. Certainly subsequent boats have given a better ride, but that boat holds the most memories. In ten years of ownership, the only non-maintenance repair was a fuel tank sending unit...

    Fuel tank replacement round 2!

Nice work with the belt sander. Did just enough to get the tank out and left all the screw holes intact. Nice job and thanks for putting up the pictures. Nice to know it can be done.

Problem Solved (I'm embarrassingly dumb!) Water Flows to Transom Shower, But Nowhere Else

Whoa, you guys know much more about the intricacies of the 282 that I do! I haven't turned the hot water heater on and hadn't intended to any time soon. Perhaps it fills without hot water being turned on? But when I open the cabin faucets, the pump isn't running, so it isn't getting that...

Problem Solved (I'm embarrassingly dumb!) Water Flows to Transom Shower, But Nowhere Else

Thanks. Very nice of you to cut and paste that page of the manual. Caused me to go download my own copy from the website. Thanks, Rob

Problem Solved (I'm embarrassingly dumb!) Water Flows to Transom Shower, But Nowhere Else

LSquared is exactly right, of course. Another shut off valve, this one for the starboard ice box, accessible through the pie plate. Well, I do learn something new everyday! Still no answer back from Grady on hints as to where to look when both cabin and head sinks are not getting water. I'll...

Problem Solved (I'm embarrassingly dumb!) Water Flows to Transom Shower, But Nowhere Else

I will look on the starboard side. My previous Grady's (208 and 258) came with a threaded stopper for the live-well that made it useful for dry storage, when desired. If there was a valve, I never knew it. Stopper was easier to reach!

    Voyager 258 with 225hp?

I think ocnslr got it just right, performance will be "adequate" with the F225. Our previous boat was the 258, essentially the same hull as the 248 except with the extended running bottom. Our boat came with the F250. The F250 was fine in most aspects except perhaps climbing the backs of waves...

Will your Grady float if capsized or swamped?

While cruising Lake Erie last summer, I got to see photos of a 306 Bimini that got swamped and then turned over. Everyone was rescued from the overturned boat. The boat was found and towed in the next day. So that boat managed to stay up even in the less dense freshwater. It was the TowBoatUS...

Problem Solved (I'm embarrassingly dumb!) Water Flows to Transom Shower, But Nowhere Else

Not resolved yet. I looked again and came up with no shut-offs that I could find. So I emailed Grady. They said they would get back to me. I did find another (what appears to be) shut-off that surprised me. In the overboard drain for the live-well. I don't believe my previous Grady's had a...

    So what does this do?

Thanks. Yeah, it’s the lower set that I was asking about. I’ll let some penetrating oil soak in and give it another try. Another inch or so in seat height would be nice. Thanks, Rob

    Power Assist on a 2007 Sailfish 282?

To bring this to closure, got the boat back with the power assist. Wow, what a difference! Changes the complexion of the boat for me. Thought I would hear the pump, but, so far, I haven't. Rob
