    Power Assist on a 2007 Sailfish 282?

I think highly of the dealer, but I'm thinking they put too much reliance on this outside expert. We've been a customer of the dealership for 26 years and bought three new Gradys in that time. But I went back there today with photos of the 2007 Raymarine autopilot pump. Service manager noted...

    Power Assist on a 2007 Sailfish 282?

Thanks. Now you have me wondering. Could it be that simple (and relatively less expensive)? I found the Raymarine autopilot pump today and I’m also wondering if that little pump could be hampering things. That pump is mounted behind a panel on the starboard side of the aft berth. It looked...

    Power Assist on a 2007 Sailfish 282?

Has anyone added Seastar power assist steering to a 282 Sailfish? My local Grady dealer's 'expert' says the Sailfish is not a candidate for this option. In his experience, there is no place dry enough. So the dealer would do the work, but not warranty the pump. The dealer farms this work out...

New to me 2007 282 Sailfish

Thanks for the encouraging replies! Really bought this boat to do the Great Lakes next summer. Work and health issues prevented that trip this summer, so bought the bigger boat instead. After the Great Lakes I need to resume the interior leg in Demopolis, AL, down to Mobile Bay. From there, the...

New to me 2007 282 Sailfish

Maiden voyage today. First stop was Peanut Island to figure out the Raymarine electronics. Once I’m comfortable with everything, plan to resume the Great Loop. Rob

    Jabsco Head; Lights Flashing?

First time on new to me 282 and this LED light in the head is flashing. I’m guessing that means the holding tank is full? If so, any internal valves that need to be opened of closed before I connect up to a pump out? Lastly, which pump does the pumping, my on-board pump or the marina’s pump...

    Flushing a 4.2L Yamaha

I'll ask a dangerous question. My Yammie dealer said to not run the engines when flushing. Just hook up the hose and let it flush, as long as there is strong flow out the pee hole, the water jacket should be getting what it needs?

    GW Dash Panels

Nice find. Same here. Would like to find a panel for my 258 that I could take my time refurbishing while current panel still works.

    Updates

For that second VHF antennae, I'm partial to Digital brand. I've had good luck with their quality and I like their mini connectors. Personally (and this is highly debatable) I prefer the 4'L, 4.5db gain antennae on top of my T-top. I feel like it provides pretty good height but a...

    LOCKER GLOVE BOX KEY

As for the Perko locks that came with my Grady, I learned recently that a very small flat head screw driver opens every one of those locks just as easily as the key while causing no damage to the lock. Y'all don't know where I keep my boat, right?

    considering an atlantic

Well, the short and somewhat lazy answer I gave apparently is no longer valid. The link I had to the archived Yamaha Performance Bulletins no longer works and I could not find another link. It may be that they are gone, sorry to say. Hopefully Grady still has. They gave me their test data of...

    considering an atlantic

Both Grady and Yamaha would make those available for a few years after they were done. You might find it on the web somewhere. Or, I suspect that same Grady engineer can email their test data to you. Yamaha has an archive section on their website, but this boat may even go further back than that.

    Erie to North Channel trip

Buffalo: I might be able to offer a bit of info, however I have not done the trip you are planning. As far as crossing borders goes, the US has replaced the Small Vessel Reporting System with NEXUS (https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/). I just registered for NEXUS myself. I have read, but have not...

New Pompanette flip-up bolster seat. Pic added.

I see the new Grady's with flip-up bolster seats and they look nice. So I looked through Pompanette's website but couldn't tell what might fit my 2005 pedestal or maybe even existing, functioning slider. Below is the email response from Pompanette. Only one chair, the Evolution, will fit my 2...
