    Throttle cables

Hookup nailed the explanation. Russ, as he said, your cables will have the length on one end or the other. My lengths are on the control box end. Buy the best quality available, you'll be way ahead in the long run.

According to his profile, that's on a 282.

    Homework!!

I can do away with the switch as the new gauge has 2 tank inputs and will show both tanks all the time, no toggling.

    Homework!!

Should be a NMEA hookup that will feed info to plotter. I'll find out.

    Homework!!

I'm excited to get started for sure. Will clean up alot of the wires under the helm with the FBW. That big main engine harness and the control cables will go away.

    Homework!!

Started learning how all the Command Link gauges and wires are attached and what they do. Hopefully Yamaha gets my new F250xca FBW motor shipped out to my dealer this month. They are hanging it, I'm doing my rigging. I pick up the control box the end of the month when I go down for boat show...

    Identify this 'ducer?

Zoom in. Just looks like ear of bracket is broken off. Ducer just looks like residual buffing material on it.

    Identify this 'ducer?

Not real hard to figure out. Probably took you longer to post the pic and ask the question here than it did for me to find the bracket. You can get it from any number of places, this is just one of them.

    Garmin GPSMAP's w/ internal antennae

I'm running a Point-1 external antenna for my Simrad, it's NMEA 2K as well. Takes the question out of the equation on whether the internal GPS has a good signal or not.

Outriggers for a hard top 228?

Here's a couple of pics I had a guy send me of some Taco Grand Slam 280's mounted on a 228 hardtop. I would have tried to add the backing plate under the hardtop for more support. I had him send these incase I decided to go this route. I currently have the Taco Striker gunnel mounts on my 228.

Charleston, SC (any Marlin owners in the area?)

Reach out to Seel's Outboard, they are the Grady dealer in Charleston. They might be able to put you in contact with one of their customers that owns one and is not on Great Grady. May be closed till after the New Year though. I know my Yamaha dealer is, down there. I've seen Laporte's work at...

    228 Livewell Support Arm

amamola is correct. 625-3 is for the boxes behind the helm seats, the 625-2 are for baitwell. Here's a pic for comparison. The longer ones are the 625-3's. Both sets of mine are the 55# ones.

    Anchor Chain re ACCO

1/2" rode and 1/4" chain is what I have for the windlass setup. 3/8" rode can be tough on the hands if you're hard stuck on bottom. Since you don't have a windlass, you could go bigger on rode for comfort. 1/4" chain is plenty.

    04 Yamaha F150 corrosion

I agree with the others. There were issues with some of the 150's of that era, more so the 225's and some 250's. Definitely have the lowers dropped and scope them both.
