    Trim tab gauges

Do you hear the engine revving when you hit a wave or in choppy water? I tried trimming my engine all the way up, but it would make a different sound when I believe the intake would not be deep enough. So I target around 3-3.5 on the trim.

    Trim tab gauges

Also, are you sure you don’t have a gauge for your motor? What gauges do you have? Mine is combined with the RPMs and Oil(which I think is not really doing anything on an OX66)

    Trim tab gauges

I like the idea of knowing exactly where the tabs are AND there is a version that lets you save a favorite position. I normally reset mine after every ride thinking there is less pressure in the system if they are back in the up position. With that being said, I am not sure I would want to...

    226 owners help

Thanks, just passing on what I learned from everyone else here. Let me know if you learn anything more. I am still figuring out how the boat wants to handle some larger wakes/ swells I have encountered in the bay. Decent sized waves where my midpoint is off the front of one wave and has not yet...

Question about the difference between a 282 and a 265...

What are your thoughts on the bow/ flare between the two? They look to be different and I assume that difference plays a role in how they ride...

What size boat lift for Grady 247 advance with single 250 outboard

Depending on where you are in your boating life, you may want to get more than you need in case you want to get a bigger boat. If you were to upsize, consider how much that boat could weigh. Regardless, leave a large enough cushion as I have read about many boat lifts collapsing during storms...

    Post storm damage report.

I am in central Jersey and nobody by me really seemed to be too worried about it. I was the only one adjusting my lines and preparing for it. Definitely learned a lot but don’t think I would leave in during a storm with worse predictions. The sustained winds didn’t seem to bother the boat but...

    seacocks

What do you recommend below the water line for scuppers? I plan to replace mine and thought the standard was bronze with stainless. However, the stainless seems off if the scupper is submerged (when both tanks filled)

    Quick Storm Prep Question

Thanks all for the feedback... Any thoughts for future reference on how I did for this storm? Think my dock setup is my weak link as I don’t have any pilings taller than 1.5-2ft above ground. Pics at Low tide prior to storm

    Quick Storm Prep Question

Thanks I’ll put the engine in tomorrow. I prepped my mooring whips and dock lines this evening but will do again in the AM as I was afraid to do too much as I wasn’t sure what the 6am low tide would look like as I don’t have a floating dock. Right now the boat is probably 4-5ft away from my...

    Bought a 2000 Seafarer 228

Nice looking boat! Regarding the electronics, there is a rigging tube that runs on the starboard side but both of my old transducers run through the gunnel rather than that rigging tube. No clue why but it was not done cleanly and you see the wire dangling at times. For the water, I had the...

    Engine and Grady Bracket removal

Where did they recommend doing that? On the gap where the two meet? I was surprised there was nothing on my 2000 but assumed it was in between the transom and the bracket where you can’t see it

    Quick Storm Prep Question

Although it is still somewhat early to tell what we are going to get here in NJ, I am prepping my boat accordingly at my dock. I am debating on whether to lower my outboard into the water or leave out. If in, I am wondering if it’s best to leave straight, turned in so bow would go towards...

1999 seafarer 228 makeover/ flush mount for 2 nine inch screens.

What hoses did you end up using? Was the bilge pump replaced with the same model or more GPH? How come you replaced just the handle rather than the entire valve on the sea cock? I definitely am not looking forward to working in the bilge

    This banana curse is real!

I was jinxed by this post as I was thinking that nobody on my boat would drink carrot juice. However, after taking my niece and nephew out, I had light orange leg stains at the stern. Luckily, a little 3M color restorer and wax got it out easily. Took no effort at all ....I will be following...
