Drain plugs in rear deck scuppers?

That looks good, but someboDy is going to give you a hard time about not alternating the direction of your clamps.

    New to me boat

Is that wood around the gas tank a lengthwise stringer, or crosswise bulkhead? I would think a stringer would be more than 3/4".

    Leaking Outboard Bracket

If I had a leaky bracket, my concern would be water wicking into the bolt holes, and compromising the transom. Caulking the outside may help slow the leak, but just remember, the same person who sealed the bracket also sealed the bolt holes. Or did he?

    236 Fisherman Video

I would hate to be paying that guy's bill. He flips 3 ACC switches, and just because he doesn't hear anything, he assumes there is nothing wired to them. From past experience, he orders a new trim tab controller, without checking any connections. And he orders a new live well pump, just because...

    No wood? Not true.

Maybe no wood in the stringers or transom, I don’t know. There is wood in my 2000 SF. I think we would all be a little surprised, maybe even shocked, if we could see into the hidden corners of our boats. All that water that stays in the forward bilge might just be Kool-Aid

Yeah, I looked at bronze, ridiculously expensive.

Drain plugs in rear deck scuppers?

The nipples fit inside both the valve bodies, and the hoses, so they will not be seen, only the valve will be visible. No need to cut them for appearance sake, screw them tight in the valve, and leave plenty to double clamp the hose. I wouldn't be using a brass valve to carry salt water.

    Updating stereo on boat 228

I like it, too. Plays in my garage all the time. If you have a tune that attracts dolphin, let us know.

    Updating stereo on boat 228

In 40 years of owning boats, the only one I remember having a stereo was a 30 foot Sundancer, with one down in the cabin, and no speakers on deck. My current SF came with an old Clarion in the Ebox, and I took it out to make more room. It still has Bose speakers under the gunnels, so I just...

Looking to add rod holders for trolling to a 2012 Freedom 275

When you say, “we mostly troll for tuna“, is that your past experience, or your ambition? If you have that experience, you should have a pretty good idea how you want your set up. If it’s your ambition, I would suggest two 0° swivel rod holders, and bent butt rods for tuna.

What is the newest GW that has experienced wood transom issues?

It would be interesting to know what percentage of rotted transoms are on boats with transom mounted engines, and bang plates, compared to boats with brackets and full transoms.

Drain plugs in rear deck scuppers?

Lucky, check out this site. Good selection of flapper/scupper/drain options, and good prices! $30 cheaper than I have been seeing for the current GW deck drains. There are 2 styles of that drain, at least of the above deck part. If you had the SS top for the $72 one, you could just unscrew the...
